What's the purpose of the exhaust chamber?

I de-catted my Monkey 125.
Good if you like it i guess , i see plenty bombing round london , sound awful & go nowhere with alot of sound 😆

Hows your FTR? I really like those Indian FTR's but the 120hp on a bike of that displacement & style compared to the rest of the market at that pricepoint seemed expensive.

Beautiful Machine though

I replaced the Monkey exhaust with a Japanese pipe that looks the same just without the CAT-loop under the engine. Same sound but very slightly louder.

You may be putting the FTR into the wrong category, it's not really a Performance Naked like a Superduke. Put it with the Triumph Street Twin and BMW RnineT (more form over function) and it holds its own.

You folks have it backwards… Leave the pre-chamber and delete the muffler, it sounds great. Add this $10 exhaust tip that weighs almost nothing and you’re good to go! https://m.alibaba.com/product/1600776819575/REALZION-Motorcycle-Exhaust-Escape-Hidden-Muffler.html

I’ve run this setup on my 2022 with both the 2022 & 2018 exhaust systems and it works well. The pre-chamber is really all you need.
I like the stubby. How does it clamp to the pre-chamber? It doesn't appear to have slits at the attach point (at least from what I see from the photos on the alibaba site) to allow for clamping down. Did you cut your own slits or did you just ensure there was a really tight fit between the stubby and the pre-chamber and compressed the clamp to ensure it is maintained? Worried about the pressure popping this thing off.
