Hello all,

My Vitpilen’s rear shock has started leaking oil. It seems the damping is pretty much gone in it so I feel like it’s already leaked a fair bit.

So I’m thinking I’ll replace the rear shock.

What do people recommend? Aftermarket actually seems like better value than getting a replacement genuine one so I’m happy to go aftermarket. Is it necessary (or recommended) to upgrade the forks at the same time?

Located in the UK.

Thanks everyone

Sorry I meant to add, is the shock directly interchangeable with the 690 duke? Or is it certain years or models?

Nitron NTR R1 £550 great shock, NTR R3 £834 more adjustments cannot comment whether it’s worth the extra.
You could go Ohlins anywhere between £600 and £1300 depending on model.
I think YSS do a shock but I do not know which year etc. you have so you will have to search that up yourself.
I think KTM would fit but then you are fitting the same crappy, steel body, WP shock as you have.
You can contact Darren at MCT here in Suffolk if you want someone to sort it for you. He is very very good at his job.
