Hello all,

There's a pretty hefty thread on here already about suspension with people making (IMO) some quite wild modifications to the suspension... Talks of different shocks from different bikes that are wrong length, wrong valving, wrong spring rate...

My question is simply how do you read preload guidelines for clicks on the preload collar for the standard rear shock? It says use the 10th click for max payload and 5th for standard. Do you divide the difference by 5 and using your own payload work out your where your adjustment should sit between the 5th and 10th?

Some measurements for sag would be helpful in the manual. I'm interested to hear people's thoughts. Vitpilen only please - I understand the Svart has different suspension.

Rear sag (with you in all your riding gear on) should be around 25% of the total travel for your bike. The total travel will be in the manual. If you only work with the standard shock and spring static sag is irrelevant, your bike cannot ride without you on it, yes 5-10% of static sag is desirable but unless you are the perfect weight for your shock it is almost impossible to get static and rider within these figures. Rider sag settings around 25% is where you need to be.
