Vitpilen 701 - Manufacturer oil recommendation

Hey everyone,
Quick noob question, I am doing my first oil change soon and would like to know if this is the correct oil to use.

The reason I am hesitant to getting this is the standard is JASO T903 MA instead of MA2, will this make a significant difference or is it listed wrong ?

Hi all,
As there is a oil thread, thought I'd share a concern, so had my first service end of January at my Husqvarna dealer, top one in the country for Husky sales, both dirt and road, anyways I had previously asked the dealer owner/workshop boss which oil they put into the 701 at first service, and he told me they used TOP SPEED 10/50. Looking on the showroom shelves I did not see any POWER SYNT, so ok figured I will roll with it, then during the service I had a chance to go into the workshop and check on something on my bike, talked to the young tech working on her, and the oil on the bench was a bottle of CROSS POWER 10/50... I commented on thinking I was getting TOP SPEED as previously told, the tech then said that that wasn't a full synthetic, and this was the oil to use, now I am pretty fussy on my oils, and bikes in general, but as of yet have not had chance to talk with said Boss to discuss...
I did look on Motorex web pages when I got home, and was somewhat concerned when I read made for the dirt bike racing world...
Obviously meets full specs, and is the most expensive of there oils, a mere $35 per ltr here, our Vitpilens are not used or ridden in the way dirt race bikes are, and although the 701 enduro maybe suit this oil, does our road going, ridden much more gently, versions...

Doesnt motorex just buy the oil from someone else and "punch" it with their additives?

As long as you have oil inside your good, and changing will help to ensure that the % of gas mixed in remains below the critical level.
 
The dealer just sold me on some LiquiMoly 10W-50.
Bottle had a silly pour spout, which I figure might help if you don't have a funnel. But it makes it really hard to put leftover oil back in the bottle.
The price was absurd, but I didn't want to have to go to another store. Typically I can get full synth on sale for significantly less than this.

Of course they buy their oil somewhere else, but I don’t think they’re simply a marketing brand.
 
Thanks for your replies guys... I would think Motorex oil, and they're other products for that matter, would be at the top end quality wise, and in New Zealand they certainly are at the top of the price range, I'm happy to use there products, and have in my motor.
Previously mostly a Motel user, but with bike changes, and dealer servicing during the warranty period, one seems to get what the dealer uses...
And YES, in this country warranty is null and void if the dealers don't do the service, which can be annoying...
First service on my 701, a 1.5 hour job, total cost $300, Labour was $175 of that cost, oil $70, interesting, they charge for 2 ltrs, but fill to 1.7, and don't give the customer the -3 left over... Other part of the cost were filters, and sundry charges they lump on...

My point being, it is probably less important if its a synthetic labelled or real synthetic oil.

Motorex is designing the oil by selecting their idea of the perfect blend of base/additives for the prescribed use.

Get the one that fits your use and youre good to go.
 
Closing the loop on this thread, I went into cyclegear which had the oil I mentioned up top available for pickup and this was it. Proper standard and everything. I also ordered some of revzilla but since there's shipping delays I went in to the store to pick this up since I'm at the 619 mi mark.
I can post an update if what I order online is different but I doubt it will be.

I would interested to hear how you find your gearbox shifting after your oil change, Have you had any false neutrals or missed gears during the run in period.?
Still scratching my head as to why my dealer put in Motorax Cross Power and not the Power Synt.

I will let you know, I haven't had any issues with false nuetral thankfully. And after the 500 mi mark my engine started to feel way smoother so I'm excited to see how it will be this weekend after the oil change. I don't use the EZ shift much I prefer using clutch since it feels smoother.
 
Sounds good, I am now using clutch more on upshifts myself, as you say feels smoother, my motor/gearbox is definitely getting better/smoother with some miles on it, up to 1,600km or 1,000 miles now, and had the oil changed at 1,000km.
Enjoy giving her the oil change and service :)
 
I would expect the difference in shifting between one oil and the other only shows up after a few thousand miles of riding on each.

Hey Wanderer, I am currently at 1101 mi. havent had any issues with engine or gearbox. How has your motorcycle been handling it ?
