Tuning

I would like to imply that the mandatory use of headlights in the day time results in for more polutions & increase emmisions than any sort of soft core lean tune is ever going to compensate for.

But hey, making the bikes slow as .... from the factory is for sure a good thaing when considering the level overly squidlike tendencies desplayed by 95٪ of owners.

Hi all, been a while! Finally getting around to getting the dongle for my bike. At the bottom of the page it's asking if I need to add an O2 plug to this order without clearly stating what it's intended for for us new wrench heads that are still learning about all this fuel mapping/tuning stuff.

So, just the dongle? Or, anything else necessary? I'll likely get the power commander at a later date.

The O2 plug is if you want to remove the O2 sensor since it will be disconnected after you install the dongle.

Hmm I don't know enough to know whether I want that or not. What's the best method? To do this correctly and the cleanest way possible?

The cleanest way is to install the dongle (which is under the tank, right near the headstock, and plug the hole where the O2 sensor was screwed into the front header.

That’s going to be a big improvement on your bottom rpm torque w/o needing a PC5.
Rottweiler sells bolts (Ti or Stainless steel) to replace the O2 sensor at the correct length as to not intrude with exhaust pulses.
Looking forward to hearing back from you regarding your impressions.

Definitely! Looking forward to a smoother first gear!

I love this bike, I really do. So, I'll probably order a power commander soon. After this tho, I'm gonna focus on the hideous turn signals.

Really depends on who you talk to.
I personally do not have a powder commander, but some people do and I am sure they can desplain their opinions.

EDIT: the biggest argument is what you want... for many the o2 thing is the solution, for others the pcv has the tunability theyre after, for others a flash or fixed map clears up some flat spots... for me, I put on a better chain 😎

I think it all depends on what you're looking for. Imho there are two approaches:

1. - If you want to go all-out and race your bike in a certain class, every mod may help, and certainly requires something like a PC5 to get the fueling right.

2. - If you want a smooth running Pilen 701, that decently runs from as low as 3000-3500 and has a super smooth creamy midrange, keep the cat, install a Rottweiler dongle, mod/remove the airbox lid, take the slack out your throttle by wire unit, and leave it at that. Oh well, lower the gearing. Enjoy what you have. Beyond this point the cost of extra performance rises dramatically, while the gains no so much. The cost/gain curve just gets steeper after this point and could be better spend on suspension or brake pads for instance imho.

Even for non-competitive track days, I'd opt for approach 2. You'll never be the fastest on the track anyway, and seriously, you are riding track days to hone your own skills right?
