i wonder if this could be fixed with a plug fix kit ,any recommendation ? my insurance will pay the labour and tire ,,if it is over 500bucks

How long is it?
I personally would judge my next move based on how the piece looks once you pull it out.

A. It is short and only in the tread block, I would continue to ride it, no patching.

B. Its long and went all the way through, I would replace the tire before I went fast, and if necessary patch it with a 3 dollar patch kit and go a bit slow until the new tire arrived.

Personally, I like to consider a patch as an excellent rescue action, just not a permanent solution...

thanks for you feedback
i went already 130km/h with it and tire seems okay,
but as switzerland is super expensive i will let it replace it by dealer and ask him to work slow and install also the heated grips that are lying around in the garage , so at least the Pirelli MT 60 RS is minimum 230bucks + service could be over 500 ...i think they calcualte 6 dollar per minute or so .
,,, it would be covered at one point so i dont have to worry and drive a new shoe^^ i remember some one here in the forum just put a bigger Tire on his vit instead 160 a 180 that would be cool if that would work out
;)

Dont forget to get the spokes adjusted, chain lubed, axel greased, and probably will need a wash job at that point... easily a thousand'er in Swiss moneys.

I’ve been riding on a plugged stock tire for miles. The dealer (good guy) actually recommended it over selling me a new tire.

hmm may be you guys have right to fix it intermediate till new shoe is really needed
, i just bought yesterday MT 60 RS corsa for aprrox 130 dollars...
but i will check local if someone can plug it first (or myself) ...cause till here tire performance seems okay with the metal eating situation...also not sure how deep it is...
