Tire Installation for Internet Purchased Tires (!)

I purchased tires online and am quickly seeing that that was a mistake. I live in Portland, OR, and many of the shops around me will not install tires purchased elsewhere or they are charging $50+/tire.

Does anyone have any suggestions for reasonably-charged install/balance? I have never installed my own set - any suggestions there? Is this a reasonably consideration?

Bummed. I was thinking ~$25/tire.

$50/wheel if you just bring them the bike and the tires? Or $50 each with loose wheels?

If they are removing and installing the wheels that’s not a bad deal.

Between 30 and 50 per wheel on loose wheels seems to be normal.

I bought an olmaxmotors tire changer a few years ago. Saves me so much time and money…

I change so many tires every year you would think I would have invested in a No-mar or equivalent by now….. 12 tires in the past 6 months between my stuff and friends. All with spoons.

I have this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1216984948...vFbiHNiRty&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY. unfortunately I'm across the country from you . With multiple bikes. (The BMW has summer and winter tires) it's paid for itself time and again. (Although it was cheaper over a decade ago) And if you feel like it . You can charge others for cheaper than shop tire changes. Tires off bike less than 10 mins. I spend more time on the balancer than the changer.

I've used a lot of non-powered tire changing tools but this is the first one that really made tire swaps as easy as a shop grade tool. It packs down into a tote bag so it's easy to store and transport. I like it so much I'll wear a Rabaconda tee-shirt at my next track day. LOL.

That rabaconda has been on my wishlist since I first saw a video of it.
But my current device is still (and will be for some time) functioning perfectly. It only requires a little bit more input from the operator 😅
