I've used one of these for many many years. You still have to keep your hand on the throttle but just the weight of your wrist will hold the throttle. It's a great rest.
Very cheap, I just keep one in my tank bag. Highly recommended.
It just slips onto the grip and slips right off when you want to remove it.
You can rotate it "backwards", in the throttle closing direction, and it will just spin around the grip, so it is easy to set it at the angle you wish.
