The infamous Oil Thread

So, I am really liking this oil; Motul 5100 15w50.

I never used Motul in anything before this Svartpilen, and never liked semi-synthetic...

..and the Rekluse has such good feel with it, now brooming up leaves with only a quick throttle blip is a breeze! (No brakes )

I never “liked” oil. I just buy the proper spec oil and it does what it’s supposed to do. Never had an oil induced failure, never had clutch problems caused by oil.

I have emotional commitment to some oils...
Just now I completed my 17th oil change on my KTM350 EXC-F, used Castrol 10W-50 Power 1, fully synthetic. As usual. ;-)

Let me rephrase that, I am really liking the performance I am getting out of the bike with this oil, more so than the other 3 I tried.

I guess its like fuel, some people only stop at 76 stations.

15k miles.

The excessive debris in screens has all but subsided.

And man does that valve train sound good with a fresh drink of 5100.



One of these days I need to get a machine shop to make me a batch of real drain plugs... the "upgraded" stock one is pretty sketch.
