Thought mine was cheap at £7999 back in June 2025. This must mean that it hasn't sold very well and they are desperate to shift units.

I paid just under 12,000 euros. With Dynamic Pack and Cruise Control.
But I think I got one of the first ones in Spain.
 
Hi, Can people help me decide if this bike is worth buying, I was set on placing an order for one today at the current sale price £6999, but I am on the fence after reading more into the company and people having problems and regret the purchase as its a money pit. I am worried about not being able to get replacement parts if it was to fold, I know Bajaj in India have invested over £600 M and are now the majority stake holder but I hear of people having to wait for parts. Anyone in the UK had any issues with the 801 and would you still purchase one today, I'm a weekend rider so I do not expect doing many miles. I'm struggling to find anything that looks like this or on par, I do like the Yamaha MT-09 and the new triumph trident 800, but its the look of the 801 that I really like, even the 701 but its slower. Any advice or something I may not have thought about that would help me decide. I know its my decision at the end of the day. Thanks in advance.

I'm on the fence with the purchase of this, any advice welcome. My concerns are that the company is struggling and I may not be able to get parts, Plus the resale value will drastically drop as no one with want one if the company folds.
 
For me, the two clinchers were the price and 4 year warranty. There's nothing else with the same design language and it is a really fun bike. I've had many KTMs (8 at last count) and this ranks up there as one of my favourites. I see it as a better looking Duke 790. I can also tell you that they must have improved the engine, my 790 Duke used to sound like a bag of nails until it warmed up, the 801 is very smooth and refined. I don't there is much risk, especially at the super low price.

We have a thread where owners report problems with their 801s and not much has really emerged, just an oil leak from a gasket which can be fixed under warranty and other minor stuff. Of course no-one can tell if the dreaded camshaft issue has been fully resolved, but KTM have known about the issue for many years and have had many chances to fix the problem, so time will tell.

But as the 801 shares so many technical components with several KTMs, CFmotos and also Koves, I'm pretty sure that it should be absolutely no problem (even "if" the Svart- and Vitpilens should be discontinued at some point), to get especially the important technical replacement parts.

I think I'll go ahead with the purchase, I also think this is a design that no other company has done, thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply, I will be make a purchase this weekend, and like you mentioned it's a lovely looking machine. I'll most likely be keeping it for many years if I like it, and at the current price I won't feel as bad if something goes wrong, gives me a bit of a buffer after the warranty is up. I've tried to talk myself out of it but I can't find anything that looks the way the 801 does. Thanks

"Dynamic Pack and Cruise Control".
Are these options a 1 time purchase or a subscription service?
 
They are options, both need a paid software upgrade or unlock, and the cruise control a specific controler knob change.
 
I have purchased a 801 L Vitpilen, yellow, with Easy Shift, Cruise Control, Remus exhaust as gift, 4 year warranty and 1 year free insurance for 8000 EU in Spain...my first not Kawasaki bike.
I am gonna try and find out for myself if this is worth It...
 
I got mine in April, £6999 but only paid £100 deposit and £84 per month. Really low apr and long warranty, no brainer. One of the most fun bikes and best looking I've ever owned.

Here in British Columbia Canada they are selling new 2025s for $8999 regularly around $12000. One dealer is clearing their 3 for $6999. I can’t resist at that price. I’m not worried about the company as they won’t disappear.
