I wanted to share my Svartpilen build in case anyone else had thought about making similar upgrades or were curious about compatibility.

When KTM made the 390 Adventure, they essentially took the Duke/Svartpilen and bolted on longer, stiffer suspension to make it more off-road capable, meaning all of those parts are basically designed for the Svartpilen too.

My build has the 390 Adventure forks, which add about 1.25" of suspension travel. They also work with the stock 17" wheel, which I had for a while before buying the larger wheel. Brake/ABS cables where a little tight, but have sufficient slack if you unclip them from the lower fork clamp clips.

The rear shock from the 390 Adventure is actually the same length eye-to-eye, but the spring is much stiffer and a linear rate. The swing arm is a little longer than original, which gives the longer travel the adventure has over the duke/svartpilen. The brake cable has no issue reaching.

The front wheel also bolts right on and, with the ADV's fork, you can put on the front fender as well.

The suspension and wheel truly do make it a different bike, where it was completely overwhelmed and bottoming out before it now feels pretty composed. It's still not a dirt bike, but it retains all of the same road performance it had before and is surprisingly capable off-road. I also used the Rox risers and had some lower foot pegs made to help with the egos for standing off road.

If you have any questions about fitting some of these parts just let me know. After four years of enjoying it, I've decided to move on to a new bike, so I wanted to share my build before it's gone. The dealership would prefer I trade it in stock, so I was thinking I would see if anyone with a Svartpilen was interested in buying the suspension, swing arm, and front wheel (with Bridgestone AX41, approx 300 miles on the new tire) to put on their bike.

Awesome work man!

What has raising the front 2.5 inches done to the handling? I would imagine it has slowed the steering down a lot? Also you have a hard rear end and a super squishy fork, how does this feel on the road?

Are the 390 parts still available?

How do you think it would do with the Adv suspension but leave the Svartpillen tires on?

Do you know does this also all work with the 2024?

I am back, Cornel did you have to reprogram the ABS? THANKS X15DRIVER
Hola Colonel, please I have Extended the fork and added the 390 ADV rim on the nose. The local Ducati/Husky Dealership (Cuenca Ecuador) could not reprogram the ABS. Going to put the Conny. TKC 70 or 80 tires on it soon. Any advice on the ABS issue. It is Throwing Engine/ABS codes then it will clear itself for maybe 50 mile the toss codes again? Thank You X15DRIVER.

Is the front hub on the 390 adv the same as the svart. I'm looking at converting to a high fender and 19 front wheel with the factory svart fork strictly for fire road use near me. Any info would help.
