I see this beautiful DesertX become an instant classic. I'm in love.

I know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Both the Norden and DesertX were initially revealed at EICMA two years ago as prototypes. But while the Norden is already becoming a bit dull, this machine just got more and more beautiful.

This looks like "vintage dakar" style to me, not modern at all...
I have a bunch of other Ducatis... but I'd get the Norden. Especially knowing KTM's expertise in this area. The multstrada and scrambler desert sled aren't great practice for this segment.
It will be interesting to see a side by side comparison test...

For road riding and light unpaved they are actually pretty good.
Fully Agree.
I would not have bought them more than once for my Svartpilen were that not the case 🙈

I really liked how well they transition from dirt / gravel / paved while power sliding.

It's a sweet bike, but expensive ... probably gonna be a startersprice of 17k here in Europe. Then consider a bunch of options and the maintenance. Also quite heavy with 223kg (492lbs) dry. Upside is the extra fuel tank tho *thumbs up*

Gonna stick to my precious Norden ! :D

202kg dry Ducati says, which is 11kg more than the Desert Sled and 10 less than the Africa Twin 1000.

And 2kg lighter than the Norden…

I don’t think it matters much, it’s right up there with the 900-1000cc bikes.

So I do. Will recieve it during late Febr. or first days in March 22.
By the way: The Duc Desert X looks also very fine imho and in the Duc modell range it´s the sseemingly best ADV-bike.(y)
