I finally tried Supermoto Mode... and it's great!

I had been annoyed by the ABS as it seemed to step in too early. And it was making it really hard to do stoppies. I've been bummed about that.

Now the manual only talks about it effecting the rear wheel:

But I heard some rumors that it does more than that, so I decided it to give it a try.
And guess what... it makes the FRONT wheel ABS much less intrusive! Stoppies are back! Whoot!
(It does completely disable the ABS on the rear wheel too.)

I've also heard that Supermoto mode also might effect the throttle response, but I wasn't in a place to really evaluate that. The bike is a throttle by wire, so that is possible... I'll have to see if I can feel a difference there. Anybody else have a report on that?

Should you happen to have the bike at a track and for some reason make the mistake of opening the intake/exhaust all the way, you can actually hear how the throttle responds at different levels of rider input.

Speaking of wheelies, I wonder what a 14t / 47t sprocket combo would feel like in supermoto mode... but yeah if it does change something the difference between what KTM calls linear and aggressive throttle mode is pretty obvious in the first part of twist. It doesnt make more "throttle response" in the way an intake & exhaust can... it just opens the throttle more for less...like a quick turn throttle.

I did some testing today on my 401 between "Supermoto" and "Road" modes.
I did a couple snap on accelerations at higher RPM and a couple small wheelies in both modes.
At first I thought Supermoto might be a bit sharper, but after a couple more swaps, I couldn't tell any real difference in throttle response.
I'm not very good at wheelies, someone better at those may have more sensitive throttle control. Personally, I don't think changing the mode effects the throttle response on these bikes. I'd be curious if anyone tries it and thinks different?

I switched to it the other day, and throttle and performance seem identical between modes on my 401 Svart. It just turns off ABS on the rear, which I confirmed with a light skid in a parking lot just testing it out.

Great to get confirmation on the throttle response. I will add what I said earlier in the thread, Supermoto mode does appear to make a significant diffence in how aggressive the FRONT ABS is as well. I was surprised at this, but stoppies were almost impossible for me in 'Road" mode and now easy in "Supermoto".

Not sure what the 401 is programmed to do, or which features are available in which area...

... but here is an example of what throttle modes look like: (blue vs orange)

Only reduces the amount of wrist action required for the same result.

The difference between street and sport in that chart is pretty mild, maybe 5% max? I don't think I have the skill to feel that.
