Hello folks....I would like to improve the look of my Svartpilen and also the functionality with some subtle changes. So, I thought to replace the chain with a better quality, nicer looking one. I would like to replace the brake discs with some wave ones (together with the brake pads). I would also like to replace the rear sprocket with a dual material one. For the chain replacement, I thought about a gold Regina one. But, I'm having trouble finding a set of wave discs that is compatible with the Svartpilen 701. Also for the rear sprocket, I can't find a dual material one to fit the Svartpilen 701.
I'd like some opinions about the Regina chains, and some guidance for wave brake discs as well as dual material rear sprocket (40T).

OK guys, so....after a long seargh on the web, i found these two wave brake rotors that are confirmed to fit 2020 Svartpilen 701. This for the front brake and this for the rear brake. The problem is that i never heard of Galfer Brakes. Are they any good? I see that they are floating discs, and they are made from the same material as the OE one, but as far as braking performance i don`t see any review. Did anyone ever used these rotors or this brand?

AFAIK OEM is equipped with Galfer brake disks (at least in the front). I recently switched to the Powerparts Galfer wave disks, as well.

After posting the question here...i saw this on their website. How would you describe these brake rotors, compared to the stock ones? My front brake doesn`t feel as consistent as it was. Even if the brake lever pressure is constant, the brake doesn`t feel constant. Already cleaned the brake pads and rotors, replaced the brake fluid and bleeded the instalation.

Galfer discs are considered a performance upgrade in the US. I feel like they bite a little better initially than normal disks but not an actual upgrade at full braking.

5 spoke wheel comes with Galfer disc, wire spoke comes with Brembo.

I have the KTM branded Galfer "Wave" Brakes on my 5 spoke wheels.

I also feel that the initial bike is really good on the Galfers.

On my spoked wheels, I have KTM branded Brembo "normal" Brakes

I feel like they develop more stopping power with less effort than the wave ones for longer/harder braking maneuvers.

I use both setups with original KTM branded Brembo Sintered Pads.

Oppinion:

For cruising and looking stylish, not to mention the big weight savings, the Wave ones are better.

For hot-rodding and winding round mountain roads, the Brembo discs are better.

I would like to add that the cast wheels are OEM equipped with Galfer disk in the front and Brembo disk in the rear. I rode the OEM disks and ride the Galfer waves disks with Brembo SR/SX sintered brake pads. I can't figure out a real difference between them but didn't rode winding mountain roads, so far.

Ok, Galfer brake discs seem to be very hard to find here in Romania, so I ended up by ordering some original Husqvarna Power Parts paired with some EBC sintered brake pads. They are also made by Galfer, so basically is the same thing. I had to order them as for a 701 Supermoto since Husqvarna doesn't sell them for Svartpilen 701 , even they are using the same brake discs. The part number for the front one is 76909960000C1 and for the rear, the part number is 27010060000. For the chain i'll go with a Regina one, but i can't find a decent rear 40T sprocket other than the original one. Supersprox RST990 40T seem to be out of stock anywhere.

The original one is made by PBR.
Dont think there is a big after market for 40t steel because the original one is pretty good.

I had a supersprox dual material sprocket on my KTM years ago, when I weighed it againt a full steel sprocket, I was dissapointed with the difference in weight. They are almost the same as a steel sprocket.
An alu sprocket sales a decent amount of weight.

I don't really want a dual material sprocket as the Supersprox one. I just want one super good quality rear sprocket. As far as I know, the alu one is not that durable. But, @BISavage mentioned that the original one is very good quality, so i'll stick to that. I will use the stock 40T as I already replaced the front sprocket with a 15T one instead of 16T.
