Some Svartpilen 401 (2022) Mod Updates

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed and hopefully you got some ideas etc. I think I am done...for now, but since the posting I did do these:

FuelX Lite- I did notice a difference in overall smoothness. I don't plan on any airbox/air filter mods, or muffler mods...which I hear the FuelX needs to be done to compensate for leanest. But it was super easy and relatively cheap.

Then I did the brake lite flasher. I don't have to mention how nuts people drive these days, so this was a cheap/easy no brainer to help get noticed.

I just received the headlight protector- found someone/vendor on Amazon who selling- wasn't sure about the protector at first- but the front end needed "something". And this was a bit less $$ than the ones I saw on many sites: BUT- it appears this is no longer available on Amazon. It's definitely a "knock-off" and you get what you pay for...but it will work for me.

And lastly, I'm having some vibration in the mirrors- trying diff things to see if I can cancel out and these have helped a little. But it's a single cylinder "thumper"- and they don't call it that for nothing.

Hope that helps. Thanks again

Currently, my "puppy" is in the shed for the winter. It's currently snowing and I'm in hibernation mode. I'm considering a wind/screen or shield, but I havn't done any shopping yet. thanks for asking Safe riding to you.
BTW, I just went to a local bike shop to see what's available and I can happily admit the Husqy has the best bike on the market with more key features than others. I'm still delighted with my purchase.

Great to hear and I totally agree about this being a great value. Happy trails

Works a treat with K&N filter and LV10 slip-on. The bike feels both smoother and faster. I noticed a difference right away but there might be some placebo in play.

I ordered mine from India by EBay but to EU, tax included. A lot cheaper than ordering directly from powertronic. I did get to pay import tax and fees but EBay is going to refund me that bill.

if the Mandalorian had a motorcycle, here’s more proof it would be a Svartpilen 401…

Lol- couldn’t resist…found a Mandalorian key chain in parking lot, had to mod and install.

Almost riding season here, had to get 401 ready…”This is the way”.

Just ordered the Fuelx Lite and the K&N air filter. I am sure this is a stupid question, but you would install them both at the same time, correct? And then the FuelX will take a ride or two to "learn" and get itself adjusted correctly? I have heard that doing just the filter can damage your engine, no worry of that happening before the tuner "learns"?

thanks in advance for any info/input :)

I would be extremely surprised if a K&N filter alone hurts the engine. It only opens up the intake a little. Full exhaust with kat delete and open filter + open air box however….

So no, no need to worry and especially not with the FuelX installed.

I'm running FuelX lite, have both K&N filter and DBA airbox cover, no problems at all. Fit filter and airbox cover after you install the fuelX. Then do factory ecu reset and then enjoy the ride.

What do you mean with factory ECU reset?
And regarding service, would you remove the FuelEx before factory service?

Are we sure that actually works? I think it’s an urban legend.
It definitely works, the bike needs to be upright level, either on a stand or I just sit on the bike to keep it level, the side stand has to be up. I start a timer for 15 min then start the bike, do not touch throttle at any stage. I then turn the bike of at the 15min 30 sec mark ( you cannot get to 16min, has to be off before then). The next time you go for a ride it will relearn and any issues like stalling etc, will be reset.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! What are the advantages to doing the reset? I have installed FuelX Lite, K&N filter and slip on, but I have not reset the ECU since doing so 1000km ago.

Edit: I did the reset now like you said. Have had no issues before though.

the reset serves a few purposes, it can help the bike to relearn your riding style, it can also help the ECU adjust to different parameters like hi flow air filters and slip-ons exhausts and its a good process for if your bike doesn't feel right or maybe stalls a few times, do the reset and it usually clears the issues.

Im guessing that when you did your mods they were done the same time and you probably did filter, exhaust and FuelX Lite at the same time which means you probably did a reset by having the battery disconnected while installing the Fuel X. The battery disconnected for a certain time also resets the ECU.

I didn’t disconnect the battery when I installed the FuelX, so no. The manual for the FuelX didn’t say I had to disconnect it. First I installed the slip-on, then after a few weeks I added K&N filter and FuelX at the same time.

I did notice an improvement right away after installing the FuelX, might have been placebo though.

Well, now I have done the reset as stated above, so it will be interesting to see if I notice a difference going forward.

I asked the workshop if I have to disconnect the “lambda tricker” if I have one installed when I turn in the bike for service. They didn’t think I have to. They said the diagnostic tool might display an error but they can just ignore it if that’s the case.

Just had my bike in for 3000 mile service and State Inspection. Only "issue" I've had was the "Quick Shift Failure". That warning went away after a normal re-start. Dealership hooked up Husqvarna Diagnostic to check/clear codes and no issues with having FuelEx connected. Have the K&N air filter (not the airbox mod, just the filter. I have the FuelEx Lite and a Leo Vince slip on. No issues (know on wood). Use 93 octane, highway and city driving...love it. Will be doing the next oil change myself and don't foresee any issues. Thx for the reset process...will keep it in mind just in case.

UPDATE:
I didn't like the rear rack (see earlier post in this chain). Sold it and went with this:

Wanted a little "something" diff in the back and went with this:

Hope everyone is having a nice riding season wherever you are.
