@LuisLAN Have a look at @ChainsawDuke 's pics - the big empty part where the airbox used to be in relation to where the shock is, is clearly visible.

This should give a good image of where a piggy back "could" fit, if it doesnt fit already with the airbox still inside.

The snorkel part is up high and not very near the shock or a piggy back type reservoir.

Question for those that have removed the snorkels, how big are they? Do you think that a shock piggy back reservoir can fit in that space?

Question - is it not normal to mount the reservoir for easy access, when possible for adjustment while riding?

I ask because with my fork, I click back and forth between different settings for different road surfaces mid-ride - when I would buy a expens8ve rear shock I would probably want to do the same.

I guess that would be ideal if one could do that, however not all remote reservoir shocks have dials that can be adjusted by hand; sometimes you need a tool to make the adjustments.
If that were the case, putting the reservoir under the seat (where tools are usually kept) might not be so inconvenient, and it would look better to some too.
Again this is coming from someone with no experience in riding through continuously changing terrain/roads so I could very well be completely wrong on this.

Some people set it and for-get it...

Thinking about it, I wonder if there is a place to attach it under the seat.

Normally it gets bolted on the frame or the rear foot peg bracket mounts, right?

Yes, that is common, but I think the placement is more often determined by where can it be placed without getting in the way.
