Shift Linkage Bolt

Obligatory noob post:

I went to clean the front sprocket cover.
My quick & unwise idea was to remove the bolt from this linkage arm to get the cover off.
I did not realize it was spring-loaded with a gear washer (doesn’t seem to be shown in the manual).
Once the washer popped loose I was unable to re-seat it by tightening the bolt again.
I can still shift gears as normal (so far).

I’m due for my first service next weekend, so at the worst I’ll have the dealer get it re-tightened. That is if my ride to the dealer goes as-intended. 😅

Does anyone have any experience with removing & reinstalling this bolt?

@redhen Don't know if it helps, but the wave-spring (22) and the thrust-washer (23) should be attached to the shift-shaft with the retaining ring (24).

This looks to be it! The "gear washer" I referred to looks to be that wave-spring (22).
Is this diagram from the full service manual?
I'm just hesitant to undo the bolt further (to align things with that retaining ring (24)) in fear of loosening the other spring-loaded bits there.
Nevertheless, this definitely gives me a clearer picture.
You're a legend, Tom!
