Ride Pictures!

Oh yes, I tested it really well 😁

That is probably the scariest tunnel I've been to haha. It was pitch black inside, really steep downhill, and pretty badly paved. Also, this road is meant to have 2 lanes, one for each way... Quite tight 😆

Nevertheless, it's a blast to go through

Hahaha that license plate ... epic !!! Don't think I would ride here 100 yards without being stopped. Bit jealous ;)

Here in California there are a lot of sport bikes with under seat lic. plates - not a problem with the police.. If you get stopped for something else, you might get a "fixit ticket".

Was out today on one of our local bike roads - Wollombi to Kulnura.

First up is Lemming Corner.
This corner was named by the biker community many many years ago. It's a succession of three corners of decreasing speed going down a hill. Lots of riders took the first corner, then accelerated only to find the next corner was even slower, and the third was slower again. Riders would go over the edge most weekends, leaving lots of plastic fairing pieces down the hill, and so the name was given. About ten years ago the local council decided to make it official and sign post it so riders would know when they hit it. The road has also been upgraded so the corners are not so sharp and sudden. The revised speed signs are now 55, 45, and 25 kph.

Second is and old convict built bridge from 1831.
The paved road is now behind me but the old road has been left over the bridge for photos etc. What is surprising about this one is that the stonework is still there. Most shaped stones like this would have been poached and built into farm buildings in the area once the new road alignment was done.

And last comes Russel the Rhino.
He's the work of a local artist and has been in the area for some years. The artist's house was burnt down in the bushfires 15 months ago and Russell is the focus of a fundraiser for the artist.

There used to be a cash donation box here but the handwriting on the sign says it was stolen.
