I finally got out today after a couple months off the bike due to a back injury, it was SO nice to be back on the bike.
Somehow, I ended up on 7 miles of dirt road with really rough washboards... really hammering the suspension... and I hope my back is OK tomorrow.
This was one of the smoothest sections, but the gravel/ sand in this spot was a bit to deep for these tires. It was a bit wiggly getting going again!

This Saturday was perfect. The weather, the views, and after the change I made to the forks (see the 701 suspension thread) I can honestly say, I never had a bike ride this good.
Amazing wievs. Great fork upgrade. Might look into it.

That light feathering on the tire groove’s edge could indicate too much rebound damping.
Totally enviou… such good roads in that area. Last rode out of Wrightwood two Summers ago.

It could yes, I know. Been looking into it for a while.
In this case it could also be from coasting (this is not a track). Lots of corners are done while coasting. It's an endless chain of sweepers while going downhill.
I've seen worse on my tires. This one's nearly worn anyway, and a fresh one is waiting.

They do nothing except on wild downshifts…
(I actually doubt if the Vit 701 has one, have to look that up in the shop manual)
