Hello forum,

I’m unsure what is my best options here.

I just got a 2020 svartpilen 2020 with 20k km on it. The seller told me he had never had any issues, just changed the oil and filter and did valve checks with sparks changed but never had any issues with the recalls,

I’m in Vancouver island Canada and I’m wondering what I should do about the slave cylinder or any of the other recalls.

Do I contact husqavarna to get it replaced or just go for Oberon?

Slave Clutch
Gas tank leak

Danny,

The gas tank was already done on my bike and my slave cylinder failed at 100 miles so I replaced it with an Oberon before the recall came out. If the recalls are still active I would do it to try and avoid trouble down the road. Probably best to call a dealer with your VIN and see if the recall is active.

Could you provide for me the specific Oberon part number?

Update : I reached out to my local Husky dealer, he took my VIN and informed me that for my 2020 year, I don't have any recalls. He thinks that it must have been near the end of the year and they often hold back product until the fixes are done. Would you all trust this advice? Again, the bike is 20K km already with no issues with the gas tank or clutch slave.

As you would be stuck if the slave cylinder failed, I would change the cylinder to an Oberon anyway. My Svartpilen 701 had the recall done but when I removed the replacement cylinder the seal was already looking fragile. It only takes a few minutes to change the cylinder and the Oberon gives me peace of mind now. It is a small price to pay for reliability.

If the slave lasted 10,000 km.

For peace of mind. You can enter your vin on Husqvarna's website.

I appreciate the perspective, I'll look around if there are any sold in Canada - product from the USA have a high tariff and customs fee now.

I tried this and the message I get back is "VIN or Delivery certificate number not found or no service information available."

My svartpilen Style 2019/2020, bought in 2025 used 3k km, had made the tank recall but not the slave recall... my HQV workshop (Milan, Italy) checked and replaced the slave with a new original HQV/KTM but with new serial numbers because it withdrew the defective slaves from the warehouses, this at no additional cost as if it were still under warranty

Okay everyone, my dumbass didn't think to look at the bike. I just looked at the slave clutch, and it's already got an OBERON! I guess the first owner did a bunch of work already, and the second owner just didn't care to ask so he just told me the bike has no problems.

I don't know how, or why, but my bike had the slave cylinder recall done with a Oberon one. I bought the bike from Germany. Maybe was the dealer's choice, maybe at that time was a spare parts shortage...i don't know🤔...but i'm glad that i've never had any problems.
