Hey all,
New to this page. Unfortunately, dropped my bike on a slow maneuver and broke off the rear brake pedal. No other damage, thankfully had put on crash bars the day before.
Closest dealer is an hour and a half away. Not sure if this is an easy fix or not, something that I could do or just take it into them. The break pedal mechanism sits pretty awkwardly behind the silver plate pictured and doesn't seem easily accessible.
Let me know your thoughts, I appreciate it a lot.

I have had those mounting plates off for painting, Bolts go thru to the other side, one through the swing arm pivot, the other one for motor mounting.
You can do it, but expect to take an hour or so and run some appropriate sized rod in as you extract the bolts to keep everything lined up.
Just enough weight on the back wheel will take the pressure off the bolts and make for easier extraction and reinsertion. Don't hammer or you will bugger the threads on the bolts.

@Liteway thanks! So you put a rod through as you extract the bolts to keep everything lined up? Once your done, do you just push the rod back out with the bolt? And once the plate is off, is the break pedal pretty easy to access?
I appreciate your time and response.
I found this process on Reddit, but it wasn't super clear, any thoughts?

I could not find a ratchet that fit that gap. Ended up unbolting the swingarm pivot and was able to back that part of enough to get in there without having to actually disconnect the swingarm. Was a huge pain, will not be off roading my Svart that hard again

Ended up being able to replace mine. The rod I pounded through to hold the swing arm in place was just smaller than the swing arm, so it all got out of line when I tried to put the swingarm back through. Not super difficult, but probably one of the more frustrating things to have to do to just replace a pedal.

I found that by jacking up from under the engine, when you reach the right height and relieve most of the spring tension, the pivot rod will slide out easily as the follow rod pushes it out. At most, it should require just light tapping. If you have to hammer, you are at the wrong height and working against the coilover tension and could damage the threads on the through bolt as it tries to force things into alignment when inserted and hammered.

Yeah I've had a similar experience, the brake pedal is really delicate.

My blog about the brake pedal

I went for a temporary fix before taking the bike to the shop
