Hello. I am trying to plug in an OBD2 reader to identify the issue with my bike (check engine showed up and traction control Fault shows up for few moments after starting the bike). Replacing battery fixed the check engine issue, but I still want to check if there are any error codes stored.

I bought two different obd readers and a 6pin cable that I think is correct one (Goliton OBD2 OBDII Diagnostic Cable Adaptor 6 Pin to 16 Pin Compatible with KTM Motorbike Motorcycle, one of the reviewers mentioned husqy vit 401)

Both obd readers are claiming to be compatible with 98% vehicles and list protocols, but I do t know which one is the one husqy is using. After plugging it in it connects to power alright, but it endlessly trying to connect to acu.

Any advise would be appreciated Cheers!

Is the bike running. Is this a module that pairs to phone or a standalone device. I have a module that's works with torque app. But other apps don't won't so it could just be software / protocols .

Hey man, thanks for answering, yeah bike is running. i have two obds, one standalone

and one bluetooth

and adapter :

(in comments someone is happy and mentioned vitpilen 401 2019)

my guess is that obds i bought dont cover ktm protocol, but its me just guesing, there might be some fault with connector (i did check all fuses)

What app are you using with the Bluetooth one. The device needs to be selected in the app settings before it will connect and read

i tried torque (paid version) and "car scanner" app, best reviews on google playstore

Both those apps usually work. You have a white diagnostic port connector . And a six pin to obd2 cable correct. Maybe try repairing and setup . I think you have to have app open and in settings menu first before you pair device. Then pick ktm connection profile in settings

At least the generic OBD2 protocol ScanTool should work to read some measurements like rpm, throttle position, temperature, etc. I could connect with a VW software in the generic mode in the past to delete the MIL. The KTM specific protocol must be supported by the software.

Did you already checked the fuses, regarding the TC error?

The fault you describe sounds more like the dreaded dash issue and not actually a fault with anything else on the bike.

I found that the dash dose this with the slightest amount of moisture in the dash causing internal tracking and thus goest faults !
maybe BS tho.
