O2 sensor controller dongle

Evening folks!

Some time ago I ordered an O2 sensor controller dongle, since so many 701 owners seemed to consider it almost an essential mod.
I didn't go with the standard Rottweiler dongle, but instead opted for one from KevXtx in Australia. His units uses the O2 sensor input instead of just bypassing it, which sounded like a good idea to me. A little bit more expensive though. And the unit is a bit larger as well, had to zip tie it to the side of the frame. Perhaps there's a better spot somewhere under the tank, but just wanted to get out on the road and try it out tonight The quality of the unit feels top notch. I did tape the cables together though, not too fond of all those wire colours so visible.

I received it today and went for a short ride, about 50km. And like so many before me have said, this is what the engine should feel like from the factory. 3rd gear in the city, 3000rpm, no problem. 5th gear, 4000rpm, slowly rolling on the gas, no problem.

Hopefully I can try it out on a longer ride soon, but so far I'm a happy rider

No, haven't bothered really Been too busy with non-motorcycle related issues for several months now so when I get to spend time with my two wheeled baby I just ride her
And it's pretty discreet where it sits so the location doesn't bother me too much any more. Perhaps next season!

Thanks, I appreciate the response. I went off the normal route too and just bought a booster plug from Denmark which plugs into the airbox's temperature sensor. We've been having some pretty decent riding weather the last few weeks here in NYC so I haven't gotten around to installing it - maybe next week since it looks like removal of the fuel tank might be necessary to do a moderately clean installation as the Svart's temperature sensor is buried pretty deep in the center of the bike.

If you have tiny fingers needle nose pliers ands a small screwdriver . You don't need to remove tank. I didn't. It's a little tucked up but visible reachable. A bit behind throttle body on left side. This is my 3rd bike where booster plug was first mod. Euro emissions are too lean.

Can you help me a little with the booster plug? Before scraping the skin off of my fingers can you tell me where the booster plug gets plugged in? The booster plug has round plugs and I'm not sure I see any round plugs in that space, is it #1, #2, or #3 in my pictures, or is it something entirely different?

It's way up in there. You have be down looking up. You will see a white connector with a screw. That's the sensor. Get a pick or small screwdriver to release the connector clip . Then gently pull down the cable

I found the plug, though having a terrible time trying to reach it. I downloaded these photos to help me find the clip to unlock it from the white piece and will look at it again sometime over the next couple of days. I put on the Kev/Australia O2 dongle since it seemed to be a much smarter design rather than others that just cap off or remove the factory O2 sensor. Very easy to install and seems to work as advertised for someone who does a lot of big city riding. Shipping to NYC was pretty quick. Totally worth the extra couple of days and the extra couple of bucks over the design where you have to keep the O2 sensor unplugged (or unscrewed from the exhaust pipe and plugged up with a bolt).

Search for the Smart Moto version. Same thing at a better price. Works perfectly.

Thanks I'll do that, I take it that it doesn't matter what year my bike is? Its a 21 plate, as I've heard euro 5 engines cant use the dongles, but assume thats for other models.

Euro 4 & Euro 5 02 sensor controllers are not the same, the Euro 5 version VE is a leaner version controller of the version VB controller that I build.

My controller is not an eliminator, it requires a live signal from the 02 sensor, reading the AFR in the pipe & correcting that live voltage signal sent to the ECU.

2021 onwards is a euro 5 ecu for the uk an eu, if you are unsure of your version please send me you ecu part number to so I can confirm your ECU’s emission level, as the euro 4 an euro 5 controllers are different.

I sell the VE for the 21 onwards to the Uk weekly, roughly 7 to 15 days delivery from Australia.

Its a euro 4 , checked the v5 document, registration dates can be misleading as bikes can sit unregistered for a while.
