Next Gen spied testing

It's Sept 15 2023. Do I get one of the remaining 2022s or wait for the 2023?

The "test version" of the 2022 looked just as weird as the new spotted one, so I assume the '23 won't break the mold and be too dramatically different looking.

When do you suspect the 2023 will be available...?

And what would you do?
 
New versions usually come out in Sept/Oct of the previous year. The Svart seems to run on a two year update cycle rather than yearly. The dealer will be the one to speak with if you want the newest update. If it's close to getting them in the shop he might even have the existing model at a reduced price.

I bought mine in April of 2021 and covid had messed up everything. I asked about the bike in late March and the dealer had no stock but had two bikes on order, one spoken for. I put a deposit on the other one but he could not tell me what year model it would be, the existing 2019/20 model or the 21 update. Turned out to be the updated 2021 bike.

Well, I'd be so happy if it came out in the next couple months. I'd like to ride around before it's too freezing cold here.

All of the articles on the the internet about "Unveiling the 2022 Svartpilen 401" came out in February of 2022. Maybe it was a COVID era fluke that a new year model got released 2 months into that year... hope so.
 
When I said Sept/Oct, I meant the previous year. I've edited the post to show this. I mentioned summer, but was getting mixed up with our summer in the southern hemisphere.

Release info gets to the press so they can prepare articles etc, then the release date hits, and soon after that the bikes start selling at the dealers so people can buy that year's model as early as possible.

I bought a 2018 model of another brand in December of 2017. The dealer had them on the floor here in Australia since November.
 
So, today I reached out to a LOT of dealers up and down the American East coast. One of them in Florida, has one. They want $7566.50 + 5% tax for it. $8000 is a little rich for a bike with an MSRP of $5,399....

Another one of the dealers said: "We just got word that we should expect to order the 2023 models in October. My guess is that this will put models here starting in December or January."

So that's interesting.
 
That was everything he said about it. I don't want to put money down on a bike that I can't see an image of... I might even buy that one in Florida. $8k seems pretty steep though...

With my luck, I'll buy the last remaining 2022, and then the '23s will have a bigger gas tank... lol.
