When the tank showed 50miles remaining it gave a low fuel indicator. Upon refilling at the gas station and turning on the bike it still showed 50mil low fuel indication.
It only readjusted to recognize that the tank was full after a drive from the gas station within 2min from that point. The manual says there will be a "Slight Delay" for
it to calculate however this timeframe after a refill seems a bit more than a 'slight delay'. I have also looked at HasquvarnaSparePartsfinder.com and noticed that
the Vitpilen and Svartpilen both have the same innards with the gas tank and electronic dash device. At this point I think this is just as inability with the electronic
device. I could be wrong but.....

Does anyone know if the readout is any different from the Vitpilen to the Svartpilen? I don't think there would be since they are both streetbikes.
What number should the low level indicator get triggered? Mine currently hits 50miles and then gets displayed.

Its normal.
The 401's are slow to show the fuel readout and should be used as an estimate.

When the bike is really low on gas, the last bar on the fuel gauge will flash. I can confirm this as it has happened to me.

Enjoy your new 401!

Idling at the gas station for 1 minute after pouring in gas still doesn't register as full on the dash. There is no way this could pass production as 'by design'.

It was initially different.

This came with an Update at one point a few years ago.

I understand that it seems less cool that there is a delay, although riding the same bike before/after i still think the delay is an improvement from the initial way it was shown without delay and just plain inaccurate most of the time.

On the 990 SuperDuke it took about 5 minutes before the fuel light reset after filling up. So 2 minutes doesn't seem that bad 😅

That time period for 990 wasnt too long ago but in an electrical standpoint it sounds as if KTM overlooked the efficiency of the digital readout for the supplied electronics for that bike.

Many vehicles have had digital fuel readouts for a long time and they were near instantaneous once you've refilled. Motorcycles are no exception however it goes to show the 401 lineup is less of a focus for the electronics over their duke models. The schematics for both the 401 and 390 have all of the same fuel components except for the digital displays where the dukes have a more expensive unit over the 401. This is the only thing I can see being the difference.
