New Bike, now all I need is a Plaid Shirt.

Did another oil change, and decided to replace my paper air filter I had in since last autumn with a brand new K&N.

The difference from paper to new K&N is far from subtle...

K&N upgraded from their old stop sign shaped sticker, so now it fits on my airbox lid:

Interesting, I searched some time for an MWR filter because of the amazing results of the 701s or SMCRs. But I was not sure if this really fits our Xpilen 701. Will it replace the air box lid and there is no other filter needed anymore?

That MWR one is designed to replace the filter, havent tested it yet.

I do also have a professional made custom one which does replace the lid and no other filter is needed.

Have been meaning to have someone 3D print me some plugs that fit in the snorkel holes.

When I tested it I just taped the snorkel holes to seal them.

(That one makes the most power by a lot and is the loudest.)

The tape seems like a lighter solution to the problem than 3D printed plugs.
You got to keep that weight down!!!! 😂

I really don't like any of the aftermarket exhaust systems for this bike 😔 I kinda like the Akrapovič one, but seems to be a bit bulky, and the one from Remus. These two exhausts seems like they go with the bike lines. Otherwise, the other ones, personally, seem to me to have nothing to do with the lines of the bike (Svartpieln).

I am interested to see how this one looks in the light, and to see what the dyno has to say about it.

As far as fitment goes, this particular Arrow lined up better straight out of the box than any pipe I have ever installed.

Performance was within 1hp and 1 torques of the Akro slip-on Pipe.

And when considering the factors:
Arrow: 76hp with 98 Octane at 31°C
Akro: 75hp with 103 and 27°C

I would say its pretty even then, except for the 1.5kg weight difference.

@BISavage I really hope that you'll post a video with the actual sound coming from this exhaust. I see that you bought the one with EC approval, meaning that you can't remove the sound insert. I was also considering this exhaust for my Svart 701, but I didn't found a full review of it. I would really want to know more about the Remus catalyzer removal. The Remus one is not the average straight pipe like Arrow or LeoVince are selling. This one seems like it has some kind of resonator. Did you get that one also 😁?1000007586.jpg

I dont like the way the bike sounds without a baffle.

Otherwise, need to install the next pipe and then probably will wait until seasons change to dyno it before I can have an opinion.

Nice, even they are heavier.
For the time I looked after these brake disks, there was no matching rear disk available.

Do you have a matching rear disk, now?

I think its heavier because the middle is steel (which is part of the reason why is selected it)

Might also be slightly thicker friction part as the min. Thickness is 0.3mm more.

They dont make a matching rear for the cube type, galfer make two wave type for 701, both of which are also for the 890 bikes.

I have the original ktm (galfer) wave type rear.
It is listed in the original 701 powerparts ABE papers but was not advertised as an upgrade part for the 701, rather as an 890 upgrade part.
