Motorcycle jerking at low speed

I Am a beginner and recently bought a second-hand bike (2018). The motorcycle starts jerking when I move at speeds of < 15km/h (no throttle) - first gear. I either apply the clutch or throttle to avoid the jerk. The feel is like when you are going at low speed but using high gear. I am just wondering if this is kind of normal. If not, what possible would cause it

thanks

Mmm, I dunno this sounds normal to me. Can’t say what exact speed should be when you either need to pull the clutch in ‘or’ apply throttle but sounds like any manual transmission bike/car.

Also if you are on even the slightest incline this would definitely happen. If you were downhill, this would not happen as soon…

Are you sure you are downshifting all the way to 1st? Shift to top and count the downshifts.
Also, could the bike have been re-geared? Count the teeth on the front and rear sprockets.
That all said, single cilnider bikes are "thumpier" and you can more feel the engine pulses at slow speed. You are going just above walking speed.
But I'm betting maybe you are in second?

Checked it out on my bike today. I have stock gearing. Slowest my bike will go on idle is 6 mph (9 kph) in 1st gear and 9 mph (14 kph) in 2nd. This is without dragging the brake. If you drag the brake at slowest idle it does start to jerk a bit.
I'm guessing maybe you are actually in 2nd gear.

The engine of this bike seems to run super lean and with just one cylinder, at very low revs it feels that way. You can upgrade stuff to improve that, but tbh when going slow if you play with the clutch you can avoid the jerkiness.

As others have replied above, it's rather normal for a one cylinder bike, which should generally be driven at relatively higher rpm. Might take some getting used to, but not something wrong with it necessarily.
