Hey all,

My Svart 701 is a new to me bike. I am not sure why but the stock mirrors just don't cut it in terms of functionality.

What is out there that works better, bonus for looking better!

I switched to Oxford Horizon Billet Alloy Bar End Mirrors but found the left one dropped down every time I hit 8,000 rpm. The friction was insufficient to hold the mirror at the selected position. So I returned it and was supplied a second one. Exactly the same happened! At 8,000 rpm I was looking at the ground. Oxford Products customer service had no other customer complaints about this product and offered another replacement. But I was disenchanted with the whole concept of bar end mirrors by then so I gave up and refitted the original mirrors. Which I have grown to like. Big enough to show the traffic behind and quite well placed to avoid just looking at your elbow. And better for lane splitting.

That sounds like a case study in the NVH (noise vibration and harshness) class I took at the Ford Corporate Training center. Probably due to the big single cylinder engine.

or

I had the round bar end ones on my Vitpilen 701 and they really work well, not much vibration even at 140km/h and good visibility with enough coverage.
I recently switched to stealth mirrors for ease of use when going to the track and I could fit my lever protectors on the bar-ends. The thin stealth mirrors don't give that much visibility but I am fitting elongated blind spot mirrors soon, to increase coverage. I will let you know how well that works once they are on.
