LeopardMoka
new rider
Hi!
I just bought a Vitpilen 401, my first bike, a few weeks ago, and so far, I love it and I have been riding it as much as possible. I am still quite new to all of this, and English is not my native language, so please forgive me if I misunderstood some things.
While looking for customization ideas to make it my own, I found a post here where by Liteway who added a fly screen, and I just love the looks!!

But it seems like the installation was everything but straight forward, and it really looks out of my league, I am more at the plug and play level.
BUT! while searching on the Dart website, I found that they are selling fly screen that you can install on your front fork, instead of having to bolt it on the headlight, like Liteway did.
If I remember correctly, the front fork of the 401 are 43mm in diameter. The bike's forks for which Dart provide the installation are either 39, 41, 46, or 49mm in diameter.

Do you think using the fly screen made for the 46mm fork of the Indian Chief with some padding around the fork could work on the 43mm fork of a 401? I have not taken in account the width of the fork for example. I couldn't find any numbers on the internet, but the width of the front tire on the 401 seems to be 110 mm on the 401 vs 130 on the Chief. Or maybe another bike with 49mm diameter would have a more similar width ?
Thank you for your input on the question !!

More than a fly screen, less than a fairing.
