Longer rear hugger

Now does the dirt foul up the cooler and the rear shock causing damage & shorter service life... or it is only the looks of "dirty" that are eliminated?
.. I was just wondering if the junk that hits the cooler and shock is an Optical Issue, or actually causes mechanical / performance issues...

Does anyone have any ideas?

A bit of both I think. Stones from the front wheel can puncture a radiator, less crap from the front wheel, means less chance of a puncture.
Dirt on the shock shaft can cause a seal to fail. Less dirt, less likely to fail.
Also dirt on parts holds moisture which can cause corrosion.

I already had a leaking rear shock at ~2000 km. I can't point dirt directly as the cause of the fail but who knows?
Thankfully it was all handled by warranty.

Regarding the cooler, there is also a decrease of cooling efficiency with "blocked" fins.

You hardly notice them, the factory should make their stock units longer!
