Just looking for a bit of an enhanced intake sound. Anyone fitted the 790 K&N air filter? Are you happy with it?

I've fitted it, cant say I notice any difference whatsoever. Reckoned I'd save a bit of money on filters going forward and see if there indeed was a difference (using a coober ecu) but no.

Same here; the K&N works fine; and no noticeable difference to the stock filter.

Seems not worth it then 😀

Any improvement at all in noise? Anyone tried fitting a different airbox lid to allow more airflow?

None that I can hear.

I'm sure an airbox with slits changes the sound but the slits would be on the clean side of the airfilter and that would make me nervous.

I have also installed the K&N-filter. Mostly because it was cheap and the longevity is a lot better than the original, saving money in the long run.

I have fitted both air filter and top lid with the fuel X. It’s very raspy, I would think of putting the baffle back in the exhaust

Would it be beneficial at all to just replace the top cap to open filter type and leave the factory filter in place. More air would at least enter and still have that factory filter inplace
