Thinking about splashing out on an Akrapovic exhaust for my 2023 401.
Any feedback on what I'll get for my investment, much improved sound, performance, fuel economy???? Comments welcome 😁

Don’t. I bought it, then replaced it after two weeks with a Leo LV10. The Akra now lives in my basement. The sound on the Akra is too silent for my taste, the LV10 is just enough.

Thanks, I was looking at the LV also as I have one on my G650X. Appreciate your reply.
Just one question is the LV a slip-on like the Akrapovic? Any remapping required?
Cheers

Yes, the Leovince LV10 is a slip on. No remapping needed. You can buy a db-killer from Leovince if you want to, it’s usually not included. I have never felt the need for a db-killer, it’s not annoyingly loud without it.

I have the LV10, a K&N aur filter and a FuelX Lite installed. People here usually recommend installing the FuelX Lite to get the fuel mix better during low revs.

New bike as of last week , 100 miles in & i've removed the Akrapovic (came with the bike) ; sounds better without it!! Problem with the Akra is that the baffle is welded in place (Akra love doing this - i had to drill out mine & the Kat on the RSV4 . . . . hours & hours & hours of work :( ).

You can drill this out but I think you'd need to drill out the rivets aswell to drill out the multiple welds in 3 places & then Re-Rivet it - I have ALL the materials to do this but I'm done with customising!

If you just want a look you can have mine . . . . with only 2 posts theres no point me putting it up for sale yet

No, there’s a screw behind the small round plastic cover. That one screw is welded though.

& thats it? I'm gonna drill this out now !
That’s it, yes. Then pull out the db-killer. My screw however had a weld on it and I broke three drill heads on the weld then gave up. On some examples the weld is so small it’s even possible to just unscrew the screw even if the weld is there.

This is how it looks

Sometimes they get tricky and rotate the end-cap so it doesn't align with the screw (Indian FTR)...

I'm going to try this....reduce weight, and make the bike look more symmetrical.
If I'm not happy with the look/sound/performance I'll switch back.
I tried it for a while. Got sick of looking at that black soccer ball stuck in my swing-arm.

Well, if you want to part with the Akra, let me know!
