Is the 701 Supermoto a good beginner's bike?

well, although the 701 is a beast of a bike, I still think it could be a good beginner bike, much better than a Ninja 6 or a CBR like so many n00bs do over here.

- It's light
- it's naked, no wind protection so you get s sense of speed
- it definitely tells the rider "what's going on" (which is a good way to learn riding dynamics)
- stock gearing is tall-ish, so it won't flip over by the first twist of the throttle
- if you drop it, damage will most likely be easy and cheap to fix

(Still think they should make a Sumo 401 next to the 701)

I mean it’s more friendly to a new rider than a turbo busa but the moron that wrote that article must have had a really good lunch from the husky rep.
In stock gearing 6th is useless until about 70mph.
in the curvy bits under 50mph and in the correct gear the front gets hilariously light and inspires way too much confidence in being stupid. Against your buddies r6 you will annoy the hell out of them because they won’t hear their fancy exhaust but the BRAAAAAP of whatever open can you got, as you stick right on their rear tire because, passing is only a dick move once.
Bonus though, motorcycle cops don’t know what to think of you.
