I really like my19er 401SP but just got today another SVART the 20er 701SP

Hi folks i was shocked that there aren't SP/VP 701er in 2021 made .....instead 125ccm SP/VP :)
so i went on just by interest on a 701SP hunt & i could made a bargain deal on a demobike with 150km on it...it comes with AKRA and some nice power parts like brush front parts mirrors bar ends caps tail tidy etc...

any advice or somewhere a small overview regarding what great improvements need do be done on 701er?
ive spend much time to made the 401 more subtile and may only want to get some minor things done for the big single....

i have checked the 701 has an exchanged tank already done under recall
so does the new tank have a bit less cap the org. and is it steel now ???
and any great chains to get in case i will go one teeth low on the back.. guess its same as 401 org doesn't fit with mod sprocket or anyone experience with it?
does both sides have foot-back protection cover ?i ll ask to have them on both sides but not sure if that comes stock...

i will upload at later stage both Singles to get an impression...

One tooth lower on the back? You mean on the front sprocket? That doesn't require a new chain.

Basic performance mods for a 701 are:

- remove the airbox lid , nope, this won't make the engine run lean, but will give a great midrange boost.
- buy and install a fuel dongle, this cleans up the jerky running at low revs and throttle openings.
- shorten the gearing (15-42 seems to be the best for most)


What do you mean with foot-back protection? like heel plates? These should come on both sides yes.

Hey mate thanks for comments, yeh i mean i went one up with the 401 - stealth spoke 46er/xv3 520 DID 118 chain/ to standard 15-front.... couldn't find it under power parts at my dealer but were interested cause on the svart 401 feels that tiny swap really great ....

alright thanks they just mounted the heel cover on one side & i am cunfused by those back foot protection covers with SKU #21003939044

Stock is 16-40 on the 701, which is very tall..

Going down one tooth on the front makes it already a lot better, and adding an extra 2 to the rear is the cherry on the pie for me.

I took the rear bodywork off mine. It allows you to use Vitpilen aftermarket parts.
I’m using a 15 tooth front with the stock rear and am happy with the results so far.
I started another thread titled aftermarket parts questions that lists other mods I’ve done.

The front fender is a short brushed aluminum fender from official power part catalog... also the front mask is brushed alu,
i like the black mask that i got as spare ...high likely i will swap my bar end mirrors from the 401 to it .to made it cleaner front view

where to get rekluse master cylinder with an global shipping option?,this is also one thing i want to do be done.

I think you want the Rekluse slave cylinder. The master cylinder is the one with the clutch handle attached. Rekluse won’t ship internationally?
I used the superlite 15 tooth sprocket from Rottweiler. I don’t think there’s much advantage of one over the others. And they’re all pretty inexpensive.
 
Yeah....he just mentioned master. I think he meant slave.
yes i mean the manual slave cylinder it looks so good i call it " master " just to double check its from the 2019 701 sm/enduro & ktm smcr correct?
 
i checked the 2020models come with an O ring instead of simmering so i`ll wait first few kilometers before i really change the slave cylinder...have to cut some cost by all those fancy power parts available i have to keep calm for that 701 shredder ...changed the 16 front sprocket to an 15er at the shop..pictures of the final versrion will follow soon

would pinch maybe 0.5-3.9 hp more out of it at least weight ratio could be simple improved

& normally i have a dstike watch around the handlebar isolation wrap-the fake watch gives a great time display for riding overview &
fun for some traffic jam stops deauther sessions and collection or attacks ---pretty useful and cheap gadget from spacehuhn....

Nice looking part and well machined but does not fit 701, I would have rated it much higher if it fit. Confirmed With Husqvarna US. No similar part available for 701.

"the only comment on all parts from the vitpilen forum shop " he vote one star of five ,but looks decent good on the 401 :)
 
I will flip the cnc mirrors to bar end mirrors from the 401...but guess i have to remove the end bar H part.
and Springs are not yet 100% well adjusted need to be more hard but agile...also didn't expect the brush alu to have a huge impact of look but so far i like the difference
