Husqvarna Cast Wheels (Husky factory accessory)

Hopefully I didn’t F it up too bad View attachment 5217

Oh, that's depressing lol. I don't think it should affect it. The sprocket carrier still looks good? Make sure you lube the axle and the spacers once you put em in too. Don't forget the spacers...don't remember how many there should be..Screenshot 2024-03-28 at 3.43.40 PM.jpg

Make sure you put all spacers (your old wheel shoulda had them i believe). #29 sprocket carrier, #25 is that bearing in your pic (already installed by Husky), #26 from your old wheel, #27 can't remember I'm thinking it fit inside #26...

That's the husky one...but keep in mind that's not the wheel you bought since you bought the kit (I assume). This is the parts diagram from the Philippines and I think the parts are the same. There will be a little gap before you bolt up...may something less than 1/8" on each side.

I also had to file my swing arm a bit (the horizontal surface where the shaft slid back to front) because it wore down and there was a burr so I couldn't tighten my chain or slide the wheel forward all the way. Buuuuut, i think that happened because I also installed a new DID chain (which is far superior to the stock one). And it the stock one was quite stretched out at only 7000 kms.

I mounted up some Michelin Road 6 tires and let me tell you, world of difference. The bike has better turn in, low speed turning is also better. I got these because I just feel that the bike honestly isn't that great for off road (I have tried -- bottomed out multiple times), and I think my offroading is maybe 5% of my trips. The Road 6's do okay on the gravel roads and forest roads, just take it easy.

Hi Rob,
Now you have had the Michelin Road 6 on for a while how are you finding them for road riding? How is the grip and ride quality on road compared to the Rally STR? I am considering changing to Road 6 but love the look of the STR, I just cannot decide if the difference on the road is worth the loss in appearance. Thanks in advance for your help, Jes.

Michelin Road 6 are quite amazing actually. Grip, ride smoothness, tip in, low speed riding I can do a tighter circle (no doubt because of the wheel profile).

The str’s look great, no question. And they were pretty good on the road as well. I didn’t get them because they wore out so fast.

I can tell you that the str’s are much better in grass, dirt, wet grass. No question. Road 6 are okay in gravel, just take it easy. But wet grass lol. You’ll get there if you’re very gentle on the throttle lol

Thank you, this is a fantastic help to me. I have seen good reviews on the Road 6 but they are always on larger bikes than ours. I was looking at the racier Power 6 as this what they fit on the new 2024 Duke 390 (as well as the larger cc Dukes) but was worried they would not get up to temp very fast as the first duke 390 testing was in Spain and most testers moaned about the tyres not getting warm enough on a lower powered bike. Also the Power 6 would probably wear out faster.
I know what you mean about the STR not lasting well, I have only 4.5mm left of the rear after 1400 spirited miles. That is why I am looking for suitable replacements now, bike tyres go out of stock fast here in the short UK summer.
I will never need to take my Svart ‘off road’ so that will hopefully never be an issue.
I might get another STR rear (front is not wearing at all due to great engine breaking I suppose) and change them both next year, I still want the scrambler look a bit longer.
Ride safe, Jes.

Those cast wheels look good. I may need to pick up a set for my Vit. (y)
