I don't know how long this has been going on but I just noticed it. I thought it was the buzz from power lines that you will hear on a hot day or the local Brood X cicadas but I noticed it today at an area that I know has no background noise, it was coming from my front brakes. I expect squeaks or grinding, but never heard this before. Anyone else ever hear it? Is it worth bringing it up when I take the bike for its upcoming service?

I had that. A lot of bikes with these rotors have it.
I would say its "normal", but maybe the mechanic would give you free upgrades?
Otherwise you could try some stuff if the sound bothers you;
Spend 8 dollars and buy new EBC Double H pads, clean the disk thoroughly, align the caliper after putting in the new pads, and break in the brakes carefully,
Other options; Only clean the disk the with everything installed, or only attempt to align the caliper.

On mine the buzzing would come and go until I changed the rotor to a 2 piece floating, for an unrelated reason; which didnt really up the breaking power, as far as I use them, did decrease the weight noticeably.

Sometimes the noise can be coming from the back face of the brake pad, even if there is a shim to keep it quiet. Check out this kind of stuff.

I've used stuff like that before on cars, but the pad making noise in the caliper was a different noise. I'll see if my camera captured the noise and post it here.

For me the noise sounded like electricity humming with a faint tanginess of a large miter saw blade after cutting metal.
