How many miles do you have on your bike? Any reliability complaints?

They are rare here as well but we have a dealer locally. I got 10% off, it’s not like the Husky’s fly off the shelves. I test drove one in June, then I bought it new from the same dealer in September. Triumphs have been out off stock though. Japanese bikes and Triumphs are the most common here. BMW probably sells OK as well.

I paid 13% OVER list price for my Vit.

The far more popular Svart would sell for 25% over list price.

Do you ride all year round in Sweden?

Depends on the weather. Nov-Feb is usually snowy and too cold but this winter has been mild. Since September last year there have only been three weeks that I haven’t ridden the bike due to snow or risk of ice. Now it’s +4*c so I’m riding again. I ride to and from work as much as possible.

How do you feel about riding a Swedish brand owned buy an Austrian company and made in India?

It feels good. Swedes are probably the least patriotic people in the world. That being said, my dad had two vintage Huskies.

That's really cool. I'm disappointed to hear about the patriotism of Swedes. I'm praying Sweden wakes up doesn't lose it's culture and identity, that Sweden stays Swedish. People are awakening by the droves here in the USA.

I love the low bars on your dad's bike. They understood the benefits even back then. When was the pic taken? Is your dad still around? Are his bikes still around?

Waaaay off topic but patriotism means different things in different countries. No need to worry about Sweden, especially not in this thread. Sweden lives on higher education and expertise, not production. That’s why production is often outsourced. I have no issues with that. There are also plenty of good motorcycle manufacturers that have changed ownership several times.

I meant the one where you want the country to collapse and you can buy food from your neighbors garden, build stuff without permits, marry without lisenses, and can fish and ride around in bicycles and motorcycles without licenses.
That started way off topic but I made it better at the end.

35.000 km (22.000 miles) on my 2020 svartpilen so far. Factory chain and battery had to go at just 10.000km, some minor issues with 'quickshifter failure' message on screen at 2.500km solved with an update.

@BlackFlag Thanks for sharing.

Are you still using the original battery that came with the bike as well?

Also, the timing chain tensioner; has it been inspected or replaced?

From my understanding the timing chain tensioner has been problematic for these engines over the years. I'm unsure if the chain tensioner part number has been revised to solve the issues that it has.

Not using the original battery, im going to ask at the shop for the chain tensioner since you mention it...(y)

2022 svart 401. At 600km chain had to be adjusted. There is also a issue with the 2nd to 3rd shift. It's not very frequent. The problem only occurs in the 2nd to 3rd shift. It's most obvious when using the easy shift. Every other gearshift, when you command the shift it will engage the next gear immediately. The 2nd to 3rd shift you can sometimes push up and hold with your foot and the bike will decide when to shift. Sometimesit will shift 2k rpm after commanded, sometimes 3krpm, and sometimes more. When the mis shift occurs when using the clutch it will just stay in 2nd gear and you have to try again.
Also after riding other 4 stroke single cylinder bikes I've realized that the engine is not very smooth compared to a 90's carburetor bike. That was eye opening.
Another thing I've noticed is the headlight does not shine alot of light to the peripherals making it hard to see if there are animals like deer on the sides of the road when in the country. No problem in the city.
The license plate bracket almost fell off(along with my plate) around 600km aswell. I caught it because I stopped to investigate the noise the stretched chain was making. 3 of the 4 nuts on the bracket were gone and the last nut only had a few threads left on the bolt. This was probably from poor PDI.
Also while adjusting the chain tension I checked the spoke tension audibly and almost every spoke rings at a different frequency. The wheel is still straight tho and also this is probably another PDI issue or maybe just me not having enough technical knowledge about spoked wheels.
Overall even with the issues listed I still believe it's the best bang for your buck because of its features, looks and performance(for 373cc).

Now that I've owned and sold a 2018 Gen 1 Vitpilen, a 2020 Duke 390NG and a 2020 Gen 2 Svartpilen, I can say with assurance the Austria made ones are clearly a better buy for craftmanship, finish and yes, performance..

As the owner of a '21, sorry to hear it, but suspected as much. I would add , IMO, with the silver wheels and gloss black paint, they looked better as well.

In late 2018 I went down to a dealer to look at a Vit 401.

I didn't buy it because the price was $6299 plus $1500 freight from Austria.

Instead, I bought a 2019 Honda CB300R ABS, $4949, freight waived.

Mine is 2020 Vitpilen, only something like 5900 miles, of which about 5000 was put on by the previous owner. I wasn't even specifically looking for a Vitpilen/Svartpilen, I was just looking for a cheap ride while I was fixing (yet again) my old Duc, but then there it was on the craigslist. Anyway, I haven't had any problem so far. The stock tires were shot at 5800 miles (and they were pretty shoddy tires anyway), so that went. The chain seems to stretch quite quickly, is that normal? I'll probably replace that soon. Oh, there was an interesting issue, it probably isn't common or anything, but there were two kinks in fuel breather line causing negative pressure inside the fuel tank. The previous owner and I looked together and found one, so we thought that was it, but the problem continued. I found the second kink when I finally removed the fuel tank. My Duc is up and running well now, but the Husky still sees a fair amount of commute duty.

What tires did you get?

I have a 2022 Svartpilen I bought new.Currently 7000 miles, replaced stock muffler with Akrapovic slip on , got a windscreen (Puig) for it and swapped out Pirelli scorpion tires at about 5,000 with Dunlop Mutant. The original chain is junk so I'm replacing with DID X-ring chain and sprockets set. I do oil changes with kit they sell with screens and filters every 2,000 miles. So far absolutely no issues for me.

This is great feedback. Looks like the bike has been very reliable for you.

For myself, currently clocking in 1K miles and no issues. Bike is all stock with short oil change intervals during break-in using the KTM oil filter change kit as well.
