Hitting the Pipe Catalogue

How loud is the full Akra with db killer in and out?
The measurement is quite similar to a police control one😉..

Yes, currently same measurement. We will see the next one.
For the last race, I was at 98 dB (without baffle and airbox lid).

I am wondering if the "no lid" option is the best as it seems to make black speckles on the exhaust endcap, means unburned fuel right?

I can't see a connection between more air --> "leaner mixture" and unburned fuel.
What makes you thinking this way?

I see the speckles.

More air does not mean "always" maxed burned air through throttle and exhaust.

Maybe it performs bad at some RPM which leads to unburnt fuel?

Best example is matched airbox from 690 duke Akra kit vs. DnA stage two vs. Tuner Airbox & Full Exhaust.

All are tuned for a specific exhaust and ecu tune and all are very different amount of air, and all only work with one exhaust.

No... I typicall use the whole throttle & rpm range, except the top and bottom 1000 rpm, so like 2500-7500

Without the lid it seems to want to stay more in the mid range.. like 3500-6500

(Real rpm, not tacho)

Since your bike has the stock muffler that rules out my theory that it comes from the no lid / akro pipe combination.

Nothing like that on my exhaust. Anyway, my PCV is tuned for my configuration and the EFR is good at any revs.
Furthermore, we are always at high revs on track.

98 db without killer isn't loud. I bet with Killer you are making those 95db.
Is this a general law for racetracks in france?
Maybe you are lucky and the measurement just test the exhaust..

Now, it's 102 dB for races (but 95 dB for trackdays for most tracks).
From 2024, it will be 95 dB for races too. It will be difficult to reach for many bikes.

The measurement at a track / race / etc... is not the same right?

You describe the stationary measurement above, I am familiar that on races they measure from a specific distance off the track at a specific point, like back straightaway, where the full throttle / high revs are used.

nope, i guess it depends on the track and host of the event. some do fly by measurements, some do "near field measurements"..
it's kinda hard when you race in a championship on different tracks and every tracks has it's own measurement method

Near field measurement is inadequate ever since electronics came out...

Can just detune it at a specific rpm to make it quiet, or add a valve in the exhaust to operate at a certain rpm threshold.

An exhaust valve only costs like 200 bucks if you know how to solder and weld...

Who runs their bike at 50% rpm on a race track...

Probably why Suzuki quit racing and cancelled the Gixxer.

Based on my optical liking:
My first choice would be the SC Project S1 but it's not street legal for the Vitpilen and doesn't fit plug'n'play.
My second choice would be Arrow Works Ti. It's street legal, fits plug'n'play, but I prefer a smoother transition from the pipe to the muffler.
Just ordered the Arrow Works Ti from an italian dealer. I will be back with pictures and impressions after the package arrived.
