I use these for my open face/full face helmets, jackets ,etc…..almost anything that requires u not to carry around excess baggage when parked.
The Doberman is excellent Japanese quality, steel, and attaches to the LHS of the frame. The AliExpress lock is good quality for it's price and attaches to the RHS of the handlebars.
For those ppl who inevitability say "all u do is cut the strap" I've put a small stainless bracket on the OF helmet with a link from a stainless chain and the Ali has a small stainless chain to go through one arm of your jacket, or whatever. The chain is interchangeable and also good for wrapping around the chin part of a full face helmet and securing to the much stronger Doberman.
Nothing is fool proof but all u can do is minimize the risk of theft and make life a bit easier for walking uncluttered.

Oh!, that doesn't compromise the helmet's integrity at all.

It would...to what degree i don't know.
I pop rivetted my SS bracket with 2 steel pop rivets, but hey I've come off millions of times in 55 years of riding and I've never hit my head yet.
Seems like the densest part of my body always remains untouched. ;)
PS. If your going to do this with a cheap helmet DON'T use steel pop rivets or your probably going to shatter your helmet where the rivet points are....use aluminium or the appropriate small nuts and bolts.

I'm more concerned about the protruding nob of steel defeating the purpose of the force dissipation throughout the entire helmet shell, which is, in my opinion, one of the main reasons to wear a helmet.
And by following your logic about not ever hitting your head on the many times you've come off the bike, then you could... not wear a helmet at all, that way you really wouldn't have to worry about carrying one.

That said, I'm not about telling you what to do, and/or, more importantly, I'm not trying to be disrespectful in any way.
I just figured it had to be pointed out because many new riders (me included) come to these forums for advice or ideas to adopt for themselves and their rides, and at least in "My opinion" doing that to a helmet isn't a good idea.

Again, no disrespect.

Not wearing a helmet is illegal in Australia and the cops would jump on u toot sweet.
As for the rest..........life's a gamble.
It's my trade off between safety and security. Not for long trips though....for that i use the Shoei full face helmet and the chain.
Ditto with the disrespect
