Headlight removal question

After preparing the vitpilen for the track with removing the headlight and taillight it sends the Can Bus HLU error. I know this is only from disconnecting the lights and not an actual problem. It did not interfere with the bike or performance on the track. Does anyone know of some sort of dongle or resistor that can plug in and trick the system into thinking all is well?

Don't want to sound like a jerk but would never resort to something like that. I am removing the complete light assemblies to pass race tech inspection not as a solution for occasional trackdays.

I believe the fuse causes the same code. I was hoping someone may have figure out a way to wire in resistors to simulate the proper draw on the system so it thinks the lights are still working.

Pretty sure something like 0.3 Ohm 50watt would work, just know that requires a big heatsink…

Apart from the error, does the bike run normal? Does it run without the dash at all?

Again, good question. I have yet to see that accomplished. Just might prove to be another valuable task when swapping from street to occasional track days... along with mirrors, wheel sets, front brake pads & suspension/chassis changes.
While club racing is behind me track days and street riding are not.

Hello.
I also deleted the headlight for a track only 2019 Vitpilen and I didn’t get this message.
Are you sure it’s not from something else ?
Did you go to your dealer to erase the message ?

I have the same message. Sorry, I'm loosing my mind, it's awfull to became old.

Runs fine no issues, did not take it to a dealer. After another practice day next week I'm going to convert back to street and check everything out. I am going to be using it as dual purpose street and race.

There are probably more KTM bikes doing track days and racing than Husky. Have you thought of chasing up a KTM forum to see if anyone there has had the problem and how they fixed it? Also check youtube.

Another thing that comes to mind is to chase up a smashed headlight. Pull the inner workings out and leave just enough electrics plugged in to make the bike happy. That will give you a home-made dongle for easy swapping between track and road.

I asked some racey type people, guess what the answer was 😁😁😁

Just remove the gauges too, then you dont have to worry about reading messages
