Has anyone tried the 20-21 to 18-19 exhaust conversion kit by Projekt Racing?

Mine got totaled out with the GPR on it, With stock Cat and With stock Resonator installed...

My opinion:

The stock muffler sounds and performs the best with stock cat and with comp werkes resonator delete.

With an open muffler (with little volume) and the comp werkes resonator delete, it felt out of breath and sounded like a broken quad.

Hey potential stupid question incoming,
I got this kit and it came with a gasket that I'm not sure how to install. It's part #90105004000 or #19 in the attached image called "exhaust flange gasket". The graphite gaskets are pretty self-explanatory, but I'm unsure of which orientation this gasket is supposed to be installed (there's a clear flat side and a round side and I'm unsure which is supposed to face the engine). There also doesn't seem to be any kind of mechanism by which the gasket is held in place apart from just being squeezed between the engine and the header pipe with is frustrating to get lined up. Anyone have a trick for installing it? I was considering taping it lightly to the header and then pulling the tape off once it's positioned correctly.

The diagram I'm looking at said that my MY2020 Svartpilen should have had one of these on it (#13 below), but I definitely did not notice a gasket like this when I was pulling the old exhaust off so I'm very confused now.

Just checked and it's not there. I checked the OEM header pipe to make sure that it wasn't stuck there either and it's nowhere to be found.

Take a look at the new gasket... some of these gaskets are "use once" because they don't rebound. I think this one is a copper gasket that really just crushes once... if that it true I'd replace it personally.

Yes that is what I am referring to. I'm not sure how to install it. Is the flat side meant to face the engine or the header?

Good question... I haven't taken mine apart yet... I just have the pile of parts right here. Maybe look on the ktm forum?
This guy thinks he knows...

Thanks that's good information to know.

I just checked again and used a camera with flash this time and turns out yep, it's still on the cylinder head. 🤦‍♂️ I just couldn't feel it and couldn't see it without the light. Mystery solved.

I must have removed the header like 25 times on my 401 and never fooled with the copper ring, still have a new one, I was sure i'd need, laying around somewhere.

🙈

Given what a pain in the ass it's being I'm almost afraid to remove it at this point. Gave it a good WD40 soak and I'll check on it a bit later.
