After 40 + years of gp shifting I have finally aquired a Vitpilen which doesn't easily lend itself to such. The possiblity of a dirt bike lever with enough offset and mounted backwards on the shaft is on my mind. Does anyone know of a KTM dirt motor that would share the same shaft dimensions? Long shot I know and other options are being considered.

In thought to upshift in a left curve because of the space below the shift lever.

I thought right curve as the crook of the knee against the seat and tank and the foot only just hanging on means an upshift in standard gearshift would be more awkward. Either way it makes corner exit up-changes easier. I’ve not ever needed to use it as the only race bikes I rode had standard shifting. If I had to change to one up, the rest down now It would fry my brain to begin with but I would get used to it, eventually.

My problem in reverse! LOL

So after finding my lost wheels, ( see post labeled Damn) I spent some time fabricating a new shift lever to enable me to GP shift. Quite simple really. More of a pain to remove the old shift set up but hey, Volswagen engineering is alive and well. With 8-20" of snow predicted there's no hurry to ride so I'll order up some stainless tubing and see about fabbing my own exhaust system!
