I was involved in a motorcycle/car accident on Saturday night and my 2-months old 2020 vitpilen has been totaled.

It was a small car (like a honda fit) that hit me trying to make a last minute left turn while I was going straight as the light turned green. The police report showed 100% driver's fault. My head smashed through the windshield and the bike flew off to the opposite side after the impact. Thankfully I was fully geared and I was able to walk out of the hospital on the same day without any severe injuries.

It was fun while it lasted. What happened totally sucked but on the other side I am just glad that I am alive and well.

Farewell, everyone!

Sorry to hear of this and am glad you are OK. ending up with your head through the windshield sounds very scary. My best wishes for whatever you decide to do about another bike or not for the future.

Are you giving up riding altogether after that accident or just not interested in another Husqvarna? Glad you're okay, and had good safety gear!

Yes...thankfully; any tips or recommendations on gear that works?

Either way, take it easy.
I was wearing an Arai helmet, Dainese jacket, pants and gloves. I guess you can say "top-tier" gear in that sense. I made the switch to Arai recently too from an $80 bilt helmet. It truly saved my life as my head went through the car's windshield and I didn't really feel a thing.

Yes, I am having withdrawals! Especially since I am still fairly new to riding (the accident happened on my 1 year anniversary of riding..) and since it has only been 2 months since I got the vitpilen.

Once the insurance / lawyer situation gets sorted out and if I am able to walk out with some cash I will be going for a Triumph

Hopefully the insurance is a good one, they normally would cover all the gear in the case of a motorcycle crash, at cost of replacement.

The Trident 660 is quite an appealing bike right now! I'm probably gonna hold off for the Svart 501/Duke 490 sometime next year so I can compare.

From people who say things about bikes, i was recommended to look at 490 when it comes out, so that means something i guess coming from people who say things...
