What kinda strategy is that... wait till the bike is discontinued and most everyone broke down and had to fix it already on their own... "oh yeah now that we have time on our hands because were outta (fritos) needed for making bikes lets recall something thats pointless for 99% of owners..."

🤦‍♂️

Complete speculation but perhaps there was some legal action or a contract with the original supplier has ended.

yeah Thanks to pirate racing and his Motul mogul which showed by various analysis what happen to the seals and certain motor components if corrosive clutch liquid enter into the engine ...

He did the official way & complain to KTM and did public discussion round about it ..also he shows periodical motor damage of the month...most of them had slave cylinder issues before Total damage on Engine components were present...

so just changing the cheap slave cylinder is not enough ...a oil change is Important...

The new replacement is in shape of an oberon slave cylinder...and it will have two seals on the pin to give more stability...and no more quenched seal at the lid ring...

if you do not change the cylinder after incoming notification KTM/HUSQVARNA will ask you to sign a document which exclude any warranty right on motor elements...so its recommended to swap and at a later stage install your favorite aftermarket piece again..

Nah not Speculative and yes there is legal action on going
cause imagine you cant break on point at a traffic light or cant use clutch to change gear in front of a corner and so on...

ask any official Husqvarna / KTM mechanic : what is most common issue that lead to service on 690s before the 1k service or "do you have to flip allot of those crappy cylinders?"...answer : yes a hell of an amount ...

Seems that the formula had hit the factor

An o-ring in the original slave cylinder was replaced on mine. I was told the o-ring was an updated part and I haven't had any problems since, but it looks like they're changing suppliers from Magura to SiguTECH. So even if the o-ring was replaced, maybe KTM will still recommend replacing the entire slave cylinder with the supplier.

well this is concerning

There have been a mod from simmer-ring to Oring on 2020er / mfd 2019

Checked the sheets with a ktm/husk mechanic he told me the same last year
i send my slave cylinder after two minimal issues within the first hundred miles to Austria for investigation and let install an Rekluse and did oil change on own cost
/ at least Time were paid by KTM

Looks like allot of people did confront deal ships with it so that ktm have to react at some point...
imagine how much hours they spend on warranty request....

-But even with that minimal improvement of the O ring according manufacture sheet that have been done all ready , clutch slaves still fail cause of the piston position and the seal which is all around./ also not enough resistant to the clutch liquid which will destroy structure sooner or later..

-that coming recall will affect KTM LC4 from 2018-2020 same as huskys guessed from 2017-2020 a slightly different mfd...

-German code for the recall form request is : 32 1948775 but authority's are slow by going through that topic and its not out official in the system yet
the statement were given : is that the cylinder is not accurate installed LOL;)

I had my bike at the dealer to do the license plate holder “recall” today and the slave cylinder recall was in their system ( USA).

I did the same, they are going to contact husqvarna and see if they will close out the recall since I put the Oberon on, will have to see what they say…

any idea on when the new slave cylinder will be available at dealerships?
I guess its a matter of ordering...2021 models have the new system already , so it should be somewhere in the system as stock item...

My clutch has also just failed today. I never got that letter. As some of you may know - I had my engine replaced due to coolant leakage from a failed water pump gasket. I was fortunate that the dealer pushed for it to be warrantied even though I have been out of warranty for awhile now.

So the new clutch failed on me today. It also failed previously on the old engine (I wonder if it also contributed to the engine seize). Both times, I do not recall any fluid draining from the master cylinder. However the symptoms were slightly different. The first time I don't recall losing any pressure. The clutch would just not disengage. This time around I lost complete pressure and the clutch of course did not disengage. There is still fluid in the master cylinder. Would the usual case be that when it leaks it does not return? Or it returns and takes some engine oil with it? I had to focus on controlling the bike so I am not staring at the master cylinder.

I know Maxcool had some experience with this.
