So, I filled it up and went for a spin today.

The fuel said low and the final bar started flashing so I filled it up, and it took exactly 2 gallons, exactly.

Now I am wondering of I am not filling it up all the way, or if it still has a big reserve after it flashes the last bar on the gauge, or probably both...

Where does everyone else fill it up to?

With the bike on the kickstand I have been filling it up until the gas reaches the lip on the low side (kickstand side).

I will test it again... hopefully it takes 2 gallons everytime the guage shows empty.

I know it holds 3 gallons, just not sure how full I need to fill it so that 3 gallons are inside 🙈

By the way, 100 miles of using the throttle (as opposed to babying it) with a calculated average speed 40 mph, I am very happy with 2 gallons of fuel used.

I had the same thing the other day. Said it was on the last bar of fuel and I could only get 7 litres in (meant to take 12). It’s quite nice putting in less fuel than you expect to though 😄

I thought the recall tank was 2.4 gallons. If it is 3 I've had the bike shut off and fully refilled at 2 20 gallons . Do they measure this thing by total volume. And not by how much gas can actually fit. Like at the factory plug all the holes and fill with water. Might be 3 then.

You filled correctly. Actual usable fuel capacity isn't 3 tho. Unless . .6 gallons sits below the fuel pickup. Which is still worthless.

I always sit on the bike keeping it level while filling up. And fill up to the same edge as you, but with the bike up right. I ran it dry once before the tank recall and then it took exactly 12 liters, just as the paperwork said. I've never ran it dry after the recall. I usually just fill up around 220-250 km's and just ignore the fuel indicator.
The fuel indicator is useless, it's very conservative as far as indicating empty.
When it says low fuel level, you have at least 3 liters of fuel left which means 60-75 km's of riding.

I'm a new Svartpilen 701 owner and had fuel range anxiety on my first ride, the stated range going from 110 miles to 'empty' in only 50 miles. It then only took 8 litres.
So, the post tank recall capacity should be around 10 litres? I'll need a few more trips and fills to work out my consumption and range...
