Fresco Underbelly Exhaust Sounds Great

Sounds great at least in the video. To my eye it looks spectacular and I'm tempted even though I'm usually not regarding aftermarket exhausts.

It's not so much the looks of the exhaust itself but what it does for the overall look of the bike. That it lowers the center of gravity and centralizes mass is icing on the cake.

389 Euros, ain't that bad. 41 Euros for shipping to the US. There is a model for my '22 Vit.

Edit: The poster of the video from 3 years ago commented, "yeah was quite a hassle to install it...."

OTOH The LeoVince LV-10 is easy to install and the poster of this vid says not too loud, my fear.

Cheap too, $246.95 - $389.45 for titanium.

The poster installed only the slip on, 10 minute job.

I wrote the poster of the Fresco exhaust video.

He replied, "I deinstalled it directly because I found it too loud. Had the 2018 version so nothing I can say regarding the installation at a 2022."
 
I've never seen a pic of one on a later bike. At the very least it will look different, because the body will have to be further back. I like it mostly because of how it sits mostly under the bike; that certainly will not be the case with the later expansion chamber design.

Well, they are available for the later bikes. I will not be posting a pic of one on my bike because I'm not going to be getting one.

Sure do like the way it looks tho.

I thought maybe the underbelly exhaust on 2024s might fit on the first gen bikes. Naw, too much to hope for.
 
I put one on my 2018 Vit and found it pretty easy to install. I prebuilt it, removed the old system and with the bike on front and rear paddock stands just slipped it in from underneath. As far as loudness, you can see the difference between stock and the Fresco in my video. I do not find it too loud at all. Way quieter than my Harley.

So, it's not too loud, and, you were not using the db killer which would make it quieter.

Evidently the Fresco exhaust comes with it's own pre-muffler, the stock one is not used. toast449 expressed doubt that the Fresco exhaust would fit on the 2020-2023 401s. I don't think he realized that a pre-muffler is included along with the muffler itself, I didn't either.

Do you still have your 2018 401? If so, can you post some pics of it? Pretty please.

In the video above posted by ichbinbier the Fresco exhaust appears to come with it's own pre-muffler, the stock one is not used.

If so, the included pre-muffler has got to be different for the 2018-2019s and the 2020-2023s.

Does this change your mind about it fitting my 2022 Vit?
 
I'm not suggesting it doesn't fit. If their website says it does then I'm sure it does. I didn't get that 'pre-muffler' meant expansion chamber replacement; without that the way the muffler sits on the bike would have to change between earlier and later models. Have at it and let us know how it goes.

I really didn't know what to call it, the expansion chamber.

Well, ichbinbier says it's not too loud or difficult to install. He didn't use the db killer. I guess it comes with the muffler and expansion chamber?

I'll have to dig around for the 18mm? pin for my front lift.
 
Ah, I missed that - if that 5 dB gain was without a dB killer that is pretty great. I would like that just for the looks and weight savings and run it with the dB killer. For people not versed in acoustics, a 3 dB gain is a doubling of sound 'power' but that is not the same thing as a doubling of what your ears perceive as loudness. The general convention is that a doubling of volume is a 10 dB gain (and remember dB is a log scale, it is not linear).

One thing to notice is on the old model at least, this pipe reduces the ground clearance alot..

Does a db killer usually come with an aftermarket exhaust?
