First Service - 2022 Svartpilen 401

Hello everyone,

I bought a 2022 Svartpilen 401 last week and I was planning on doin the first service my self, but
someone on Facebook said that I need it to take it to the dealer because they need to adjust the rev limiter.

Can I adjust the rev limiter at home?

Also, what about the warranty if I do the service myself?

I don't know if the rev limiter gets adjusted, but the shift light is set to a lower figure for the designated break-in period. Once that distance is on the clock it can be adjusted by the rider to a higher setting.

Once you get past the first service mileage the computer auto-resets the rev limiter to the new setting. At least mine did. You can then adjust the range if you want to.

If I recall...the service manual specs that the dealer should do the first (600+) miles service. They use a diagnostic tool to re-set/update some the settings. But I don't think there is nothing you can't do from the info in the owner's manual. I purchased the "Repair Manual" off of eBay- I gotta say, having owned over 8 two wheeled vehicles, it's not the best shop manual I've seen. The manual does say that the rev limiter can not be adjusted under 602 miles. Good luck
