Dzell parts

I considered the covers but my main concern especially with running the 18-19 exhaust setup is the lack of air flow and trapping the heat possibly leading to heat soak. However It may make it less hot on your legs.

I ordered the rear and side racks. Took a few weeks to arrive from S Korea. Products looks very high quality. Been busy so haven't had time to install so have not verified fitment.

I'm definitely interested to see how these mount on your bike, please keep us posted!
I'm most curious to know if mounting the top box plate is necessary for rigidity for the side bags brackets, I don't really have interest in mounting a top box. I'm also wondering how it might fare with a T-Rex tail tidy, which uses large plastic spacers in places of the stock turn signal mounts.

@pudding finally put the racks on. They fit up just fine, the only issue I ran into were the bolts for the top rack to the rear bike frame were too long so I reused the bolts the held the rear grab handle. Other than that the racks are very high quality. It's pretty sturdy. The mounting plates are not that large so unless you plan to put a lot of weight on it you likely won't need both connected. At this moment I mounted all the brackets but only the top plate and everything is very rigid.

@nomnomrider Those look great! Thanks for the pics and info, I'm really tempted to pick up a set, I've been looking for a pannier solution of some kind. They also look relatively discreet if the side brackets aren't installed. One last question, in your picture I've circled a spacer for the side bracket mount. . . that's a removable, separate piece, correct?

@pudding
Yes those are a separate piece as they are aluminum spacers. There are 4 of them, you barely see the ones on the most reward holes because they are just long enough to have the bracket be flush to the plastic. You also need to reuse the spacers that are already in there and those go on top of these. The kit comes with a nice installation sheet with a good exploded diagram to show this. These bolts also thread in much smoother than the original bolts, always seems like I was cross threading the old bolts.

The side panels look good, I think using black screws would be a marked improvement.

Nice to see some products coming out from other enthusiast regions!

Do you think that the rack can be installed facing inwards to the seat? T make the plate sit just above the pillion seat?

@LuisLAN there are 6 holes on the mounting plate allowing for 2 locations. it cannot be turned around if you want to use all 4 holes. The most forward placement will have it barely cover the end of the pillion seat. I choose to place it most reward just to make it easier to remove and reinstall the pillion seat.

@nomnomrider
Thanks for the reply.
You are talking about the plate. What I'm wondering is if it's possible to flip the mounting brackets, put the Right one on the left side and vice versa so the plate ends up over the pillion seat.
I'm curious if because they seem to be made to fit at an angle.

@LuisLAN if the brackets were to be rotated or swapped i can see a few possible issues
1. the top plate might not bolt back on
2. it the plate did bolt it would actually be over the riders seat unless you redrilled the mounting holes
3. the mounting brackets taper inward towards the back and it would pinch or even not fit over the seat.
I'm sure if someone were dedicated enough they could slot the holes on the brackets, re-drill holes here and there it get it fit over the pillion seats. I've attached a picture showing the top view of the mounting.

I finally found some time to mount the side brackets. For the moment I'm only going to mount an OS-6 on the left side as shown, and maybe add an OS-12 in the future. FWIW the empty bracket is fairly unobtrusive and blends with the bike. Since I have a T-Rex fender eliminator I used the mounting spacer that came with that instead of the spacers that came with the Dzell mounts. Also, the bolts that came with the Dzell mounts were way too long, which was a problem I ran into when mounting the T-Rex eliminator. I wonder if my bike is "unique?"

@pudding looks good. I plan to also get the OS-6 anf OS-12 bags as well and also have the T-rex fender eliminator that I added recently.
