As the title asks, does anyone make a front fender extender for the Svartpilen 701? I took a shot and bought the Pyramid Plastics one for the Vitpilen, but it doesn’t fit right.

Ray, I have had some emails with Pyramid re a proper hugger extension for the 701 Vitpilen, currently they do a KTM 690 Duke job, but the joint area is a little different, however I have fitted it...
Andy in customer support is the guy I was talking with, 2e10pgqjl3mol4j3@emails.gorgias.com
He has plans to get a rear hugger/chain guard and look at making, so maybe worth a email, see if they have plans to do the Svartpilen...

I've ordered a Duke 3 hugger and chain guard yesterday.
The hugger is a lot longer than the one on the Vit. 02ktm-690r.jpg
I'm hoping they will arrive this week. The fender and chain guard are €21,xx each, so not very expensive.
I'll report here if they fit and I'll post some photos as soon as they arrive.

campus, I have not seen that one before, wasn't aware there was a Duke 3, So will be keen to see some pics and hear how you get on, I am also looking at the carbon Duke hugger Pyramid do, and want to find out if it will fit the Vitpilen, at 160 pounds plus 66 pounds shipping Its a bit expensive to just order and try...

I’ve already got a rear hugger on order from Powerbronze. I’m looking for a FRONT wheel fender extender, specifically for the Svartpilen 701.

Yeah, sorry for hijacking this thread, I just read wanderers post and missed your opening.
I'll start a separate topic when I receive the Duke hugger.

What’s the issue with the fit? Is the cutout the wrong shape?

The Vitpilen one doesn’t fit the Vitpilen very well IMO because of the rounded moulding under the stock mudguard - I.e. it’s not flat, there’s a bead you could say. The extender sits at an angle unless you find some way to pack it out. However others have not had the same issue I have so maybe it’s just mine :)

I might be tempted to ask NLCarbon if they could do one...

I bought a Pyramid Plastics front fender extender for the Vitpilen just to see if it would work on the Svartpilen. It doesn’t. The curve at the end of the fender is different.

I've filled the gap on mine with double sided tape as well. Then used bison polymax to glue it in place.

From what I've seen in the pictures, the svart fender is round at the end, where the Vit is straight.
@Ray R you could try something like this

I'm usually not a great fan of cheap stuff from China, but in this case it might be just what you need.

I have fitted a Pyramid front fender extender to my Vitpilen, and wonder if it is suppose to follow the curve of the tyre more, it currently splays out some, though that will catch/stop more crap from passing. Pic to follow shortly.

Mine is very close to the tyre, I have just checked the part number, and I have the part number ending in 102
Mine has wear marks on the inside from touching the tyre.
I would have liked it to splay out some.
But still, it keeps so much crap from the front of the bike!

I sent a request to Pyramid Plastics asking if they had plans to make a front fender extender for the Svartpilen 701. I received a reply that my request was forwarded to their engineering department, and I’d get an answer ASAP.

Ray, they have been very good over the years at answering queries, and sorting stuff, I would not be surprised if one of there existing extenders was a perfect mate to the bike, the hard part is matching it up, but Andy has plans to get a Vitpilen 701 chain guard in his hands, and make a hugger extension to match, a bit of pushing and he mite do what your after...
I see a Svartpilen in my dealer, and the front guard is quite different, and a fair bit longer, a temporary solution would be to make up something out of rubber, but maybe its your off season weather wise for riding and your not in a hurry...
Good luck with sorting... Jay

Yeah...... I have a cheap universal fit rubber piece coming from Amazon. But I’m hoping for something a bit more elegant, and since Pyramid already made one for the Vitpilen, I’m thinking one for the Svartpilen wouldn’t be too much of a stretch.

Sounds good, I'd love to see a pic of your universal rubber job when it comes, hopefully you can make that work while Pyramid get one sorted...

Ray, that looks like its made for a big Harley, front or rear, thinking you can make 2 out of that and then some...
I go to a shop that sells rubber sheet, different thicknesses, and types, and buy some off the roll, then I get to make whatever from it,
Not keen on drilling and screwing, 3M VHB tape from a sign writers shop and a good clean with a alcohol rubbing liquid keeps things working... I did end up putting 2x 4mm screws in my pyramid hugger extension, as it was a makeshift fit, and though I tried it, double layer tape, and a mismatch of curves weren't going to stay for long...

I received the flap from amazon, and to my surprise, it appears it’s going to fit perfectly. It probably won’t be the most attractive piece of kit, but function over form, right?
I’ll post a photo once it’s mounted.

Sounds good, great to get the fit you want, and yes function over form most of the time, lol.
Talking of function over form, I see mention of Puig screens in another thread, and you had ordered one, did you get that.? have you fitted up.?
I got one for my Vitpilen when I ordered my fender extenders, and fitted it up last week, so initially I wasn't liking the look much, but 3 rides and 400km later, I have gotten used to it, finding the airflow good, and smooth, no helmet buffet, and so am happy ish, maybe something else will come along in time, but not in any rush...
