Disable quickshift?

The QS unit is on the right side of the gearbox - just behind and below the oil level window. There will be a lead running up into the frame. Chase that lead until you come to a plug and disconnect. Then check that the bike's computer is OK about it. You might get error messages if it expects it to still be connected.

🙉🙉🙉 quickshifter option cost lotsa moneys on like everybike except Husqvarna.

If you want to disable it, pull the clutch lever... when the clutch lever sensor is "clicked" the bike disables the qs and enables a different fueling map; until you release the clutch lever.

You dont need to pull the lever all the way, just enough to click the lever sensor switch (which can be adjusted)

I like the Quickshifter but you do have to 'drive' it rather than expect perfection; it is particularly good when accelerating hard, changing down is particularly rewarding to get right if you feel the gear lever move as you match downshift revs. Easiest way to avoid unplugging it would be to adjust the clutch switch to mimic permanent pull on the lever, i.e. adjust it to be triggered or more sensitive.

Would not recommend an "always pulled clutch" setting of the sensor - the pulled clutch lever enables a different engine map, because the clutch is disengaged.
Thanks, I'd assumed changing gear with clutch was same map, just cuts power when clutch not pulled. Also, my Quickshift when new but after enabled at first service would occasionally cease to operate, a waggle of the clutch lever brought it back, switch was sticking, I'll check whether microswitch or magnetic sensor type and fix accordingly

FYI, I have now tried this. The bike doesn't start with the sensor unplugged. Very annoying.

Then the only option is to work out how to leave the Quickshifter sensor in 'not operated' state, even if the gear leaver is being operated, but keep it connected. Alternatively run a meter on the connection cable, to see if it cuts the ignition by earthing or not earthing the cable. If it's a single cable the detection must be via earthing to the motor, either making the connection when gear lever moved, or breaking it. Mimicking that takes it out of commission.

I love the QS. Yes, it's not perfect. Don't use it until the bike is warmed up, only use it for the 4, 5, & 6 upshifts. 2 & 3 upshifts are ok when hard on the throttle. Downshifts work great in all gears.

I had a Healtech QS on a another bike. It could be turned completely off, no problem.

The new Honda Hornet allows the QS to be user adjusted. The sensitivity to foot pressure can be adjusted. The Healtech QS was like that too. It had a bunch of adjustments accessible with a phone app.

1: Have you set up the gear lever correctly for your shoes? 10mm free space between the gear lever and the shoe. If you have constant contact between the shoe and the lever, it won’t work properly. I swapped from regular boots to adventure boots and had to calibrate the lever. Took some trial and error.

2: Don’t use before 4 heat bars on the temperature.

3: Don’t change gear gently. High revs and hard push up, low revs down.

4: Have the dealer check the ECU - settings.

Mine works perfectly, but as I said, the lever need to be correctly adjusted.

Yours works perfectly on 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts?

Absolutely, as long as the engine is warm.
All gears, up and down, no issue (2022 model).

Edit: At first after adjusting the lever for the thicker boots, the qs didn’t work from 4-6, the lever was too high up. Adjusted it down and now it works on all gears. So the lever adjustment is sensitive for sure.

Mine is jerky on the 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts but good on the rest and perfect on all downshifts.

Perhaps I need to move the gearshift lever up a bit.

Try it. It’s an easy operation, just two screw-nuts. But go little by little, the same amount on both sides of the lever rail. And make sure there’s no play. When I pull off at the red lights 0-100km/h it’s as smooth as an automatic gearbox, you should be able to get the same feeling.

Thanks, I'll try it. My previous bike's shift linkages were identical.

It can be disabled in the software. I just don't want to make the trip. Dealer wants the bike left for days.
At least on the 701, I can unplug the sensor and get a CEL. But everything works fine.
